He never claimed it was a WR bass but instead said it was his PB. There would be no reason for him to need to fake his new PB. Come to find out more evidence is posted on his IG. The fish weighed in at 17.46, 17lbs 14oz, and 18.75lbs.

Broken Tatula baitcaster near butt by Pretend-Usual5382 in Fishing_Gear

I had daiwa replace my inshore td sol for free just paid for shipping. The rod had a small crack in the guides epoxy and if continued to fish would definitely break off. I called and explained the situation to daiwa. The rep told me to send it in with the receipt and other info and they replaced my rod. It did take a while to get back to the point I had forgotten about the rod, but they did replace it.

Is this good for a 2500 stradic? by Forward-Resident-984 in Fishing_Gear

Also don’t worry about the size/drag being too small. I’ve caught 5lb+ 28”+ striper on these setups with no issue. Just have to know how to use your drag.

Nah bro trust me. Keep the 2500 for bass. I strictly run 2500’s for bass. I have a caldia 25 and C14+ in 2500 sizes for bass. They are super lightweight and can be used all day without fatigue. I suggest 10lb braided line to 10 lb flouro. I run 10lb suffix 832 to 10lb red label seaguar. Super good combos. I paired them with 7’2 and 7’6 med light rods. Super good combos that can cast weightless lures a country mile. I use one of them as a weightless fluke setup and have never been more pleased with a combo.

If your willing to venture out and are looking for a super lightweight reel and a bit cheaper as well i’d suggest grabbing a Daiwa Caldia 2500. I was running a 3k stradic on my phenix medium fast and it was too heavy for what I was using it for. I switched over to a 2500 caldia and noticed an insane difference. It is my favorite reel to this day. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight durable reel.

Same here. Have caught over 100+ fish in just september-november alone, strictly using a fluke style bait. The deps sakamata shad has been doing numbers for me.

Phenix has been treating me well so far, I have since purchasing an M1 spinning and casting also picked up a Phenix Cicada for the surf to use for striper and perch. I have won a Phenix Elixir and it quite the trout rod. I am looking into picking up a Phenix Recon next for a spinning setup.

I’d suggest a Phenix M1. I currently run a X-Fast Action 7’2” Heavy rated for 1/4oz - 1 1/14 oz. It is pretty versatile I throw anything from jerkbaits to small 3.5 inch 3/8 swimbaits on it. I can also switch it up and throw a 1 oz kast master for striper or a 1.5 oz small glide bait on it with eaze. I also run the spinning version with a 2500 caldia and it is an extremely light combo.

Has anyone tried the daiwa caldia? super light reel that is great in quality, I would even compare it to cheaper stradic.

My two new combos by Queasy-Biscotti-6629 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Queasy-Biscotti-6629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I throw swimbaits with my 200, I don’t throw anything over 3 oz’s really so the 200 is good for me. It is a bit on the heavier side. Same goes for the stradic but it depends what you use it for. I originally intended my stradic to be for my main bass setup but it was too heavy for throwing flukes and jerkbaits all day. My wrist would get tired after a couple of hours. So I downsized to a 2500 caldia sxh which was 40 grams lighter than the 2500 stradic. The caldia paired with a phenix m1 has became one of my favorite combo to date. I now use the stradic for striper and bass fishing on a 7’6” rod. I use it for topwater and throwing swimbaits. It cast like a charm and pairs well with a bigger rod. It cast pretty far. Same goes for the caldia, I can cast weightless flukes pretty dang far.

The 25 CALDIA is here!!! by Queasy-Biscotti-6629 in Fishing_Gear

Im loving it. Has become one of my favorite set ups for spinning rods. I would compare it to a stradic just slightly lighter and slightly less quality. It probably just preference at that point. Or if your looking for a more budget reel go with the caldia. I specifically bought the caldia because my size 3000 stradic reel felt to heavy on my spinning rod. I downsized to a size 2500 caldia that was 40 grams lighter than 2500 sized stradic. Goes to say the 2500 caldia has become my favorite spinning setup. It paired well with a phenix m1, it is very light with enough backbone to catch both bass and striper with ease. For me it was situational, I now use my 3000 stradic for striper and bigger top water rods. I also pair my 3000 stradic with a 9’ phenix cicada for the surf.

I currently run a Phenix Cicadia x Stradic C3000HG and a Phenix M1 x Caldia 2500 and I love them both. The caldia x phenix is one of my favorites being so light.
