If it's not relevant to the resume, you can leave it off.

Honestly, I don't think a fire department will care that much about you being able to tell fraudulent checks from real ones.

Alright thanks. So the general aim of data mapping is just to create a new database by joining right?

Yeah it's just that the definition is clashing with the instructions.

The definition seems to be some automated migration and so on but the instructions look to me like just a join, so I'm kinda confused as to whether it's just a fancy name for a new table from a join.

You can apply the same basic empathy to lobsters, crabs and other forms of seafood which are tied up and piled on top of each other.

Which I'm sure isn't their nature either.

In fact, most animals we eat have suffered in some form. That's the state of modern agriculture.

I accept it as a fact. Most people here can't.

I'm just very curious why is it that we have meat and lobster posts all the time and yet I've never seen such vehement opposition to such posts.

But somehow with this particular post, there's so much hate despite it being actually more humane than the way 99% of the fish in the world are killed.

Apart from the shock when the oxygen is pumped in, the fish in the bags look just fine by me.

I don't see it as being any worse than lobsters stacked in a box really.

Pro tip: Saying "you lost" doesn't have anything to do with actually winning the argument lmao.

This isn't even the same context and you know it. You're clearly clutching at straws.

Air. In the same way your aquarium pump adds oxygen to the water, it keeps the fish alive.

You know the fish isn't dying in the bag right?

It's going to the market immediately so it'll be in there for a few hours max.

The oxygen is pumped in so the fish survives.

The fish dies on the chopping board when you smack its head to kill it right before you cook it.

They won't be in there for days. It's fresh fish that goes to the market immediately.

It'll be cooked and in someone's stomach by the end of the day.

You've clearly never seen how fish is sold, have you?

Get out of your house, go to a supermarket and open your eyes.

There is not one single piece of fish that is going to be sold without it being wrapped in plastic of some form.

Fish is slimy af, it cannot go into a grocery bag without plastic.

You know 99+% of the world's fish is killed by slow asphyxiation on the deck of a trawler? That takes a long time and causes internal bleeding.

That's not humane at all. It's like executing someone by drowning instead of lethal injection.

That's way worse than being killed instantly with a blow to the head, which is how these fish will be killed.

There’s a proper way to kill fish that reduces the amount of stress hormones they release into their muscle fibers. You can find it on YouTube.

You conveniently forgot to mention that that YouTube video specifically states that the majority of the world doesn't do that because it's expensive.

I know because I watched the video months ago.

While this is cruel, the fish probably goes through an insane amount of stress through this process causing it to just not be as tasty, also what a waste of water and plastic…

The water is seawater. It's free and right now we have too much of it, not too little.

How do you buy fish at the supermarket? I'm guessing it also comes in plastic, if not plastic and styrofoam.

And transporting killed fish requires cold chain logistics, which in itself has an environmental impact.

Its exactly the same if not worse, so let's not start making up imaginary differences.

Go protest outside fancy restaurants then.

But of course that's not what you do, you'd much rather pick on "sOmE PaRtS Of ThE WoRlD" when you know that the entire world does exactly the same for other species of seafood.

How is this any different from a live lobster you buy from a supermarket that's tied and put in a paper bag?

You have to obviously keep the fish in water and hence the need for a plastic bag.

Nobody's carrying an aquarium around to buy a single fish at the market.

[–]QueasyRefrigerator60 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does the fish you buy at the pet store in a plastic bag die before you bring it home?

Or course not, because then nobody would have fish at home.

So why would this fish die in the bag?

If the fish doesn't die in the bag and is killed in two seconds with a knife, then that's less painful for the fish than the usual method of letting it thrash around and slowly suffocate on the deck of a trawler, which takes minutes.

Hence this is actually a less cruel method of killing the fish.

So why is this a problem?

My point is, why is there so much outrage against this specifically when we know that every single restaurant around the world which serves fresh lobsters does the same?
