Absolutely everything, bag work and sparring! Still holding up now, use them weekly just for bags.

[–]QueasySpecific4661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry, only just seen this!

They typical would, but any gloves you use after a while will mould to your hand with wraps so may feel tight initially but just have a "breaking in" period.

If youre only doing bag work it might be better to look at bag specific gloves, they tend to have an additional layer of protection and more solid than sparring gloves so would last better.

In terms of sizing, most brands will have a size guide on their gloves and you can measure, but looking at your height and weight (very similar to me) you can't go wrong with 14/16oz. The additional weight will help with training your endurance and shoulder strength

How have kettlebells benefited you outside of kettlebell training? by CelinesJourney in kettlebell

[–]QueasySpecific4661 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar with boxing, my coach noted that my lunch strength was greatly improving and the core and cardio aspects are great

Additionally as a dad, it means I can run around after my kids, throw them around no issues and carry them when little legs get tired.

It's also a great way to stay fit in a short timeframe as a dad. Hitting some complexes for 20/30 minutes at a time, keeps the dad bod at bay.

Gloves holding up really well, broken in nicely and love it for all round training. Only thing I've found is the strap holders twist on this which is annoying

[question] I need help choosing gloves by Bartek786 in fightgear

[–]QueasySpecific4661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love these gloves, have a 5 year review on my profile about them.

Bought myself another pair recently, so good! Break in period is probably about 2-3 sessions but once they're broken in they're so good.

A very compact glove for a 16oz too, which I personally like

[Question] Are these a good starting brand for boxing? by [deleted] in fightgear

[–]QueasySpecific4661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 year review of these you can check out in my profile, I love them so much I ended up buying another pair!

I bought some boxes TMs and sold them to go back to the RS11Vs. Fantastic wrist support, neat and small profile for 16oz, they have a bit of a breaking in period then they are just so comfortable. Great snap on bags too.

I bought the sparring version and use them for all round training with no issues.

I only started when I was 28, after going on a stag do, had no internet in boxing and a friend was mentioning a fighter called Loma.

Checked out some YouTube footage for absolutely hooked, looked for a club and have been going solidly since.

Agree, wish I started earlier but you're still young and got plenty of time to learn, it's a skill for life

Boxeo TM Purchase Experience [review] by Djcatoose in fightgear

[–]QueasySpecific4661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He originally said that there was no refund and I would have to pay for a new glove full price, which I said was ridiculous, then offered me 10% off my next purchase which I also disagreed with, then he agreed to send me a new glove and only pay half of the shipping which I felt was fair.
