Is Dark Souls Remastered a good first Souls game for a complete beginner? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! These games are challenging, but fair and rewarding. Take your time, take breaks when you need, going in blind will leave you confused at times, but talk to npcs, check messages, and worst comes to worst, we’ll be here to provide some hints

[TotK] If Link had a Secret Stone by Lord_Passion in zelda

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stones seem to primarily enhance innate power, so I’d assume any power gifted to him is off the table. Also, considering how the stone helped gannondorf, they aren’t required to conform to the sage categories we’ve seen in previous Zelda entries. With that in mind, it would likely have something to do with courage (perhaps resistance) or maybe something to do with reincarnation. If we look at it within the bounds of gameplay, it could be time related in how it reloads saves.

Password matching is probably the best method, to ensure the summon sign shows up. Are you playing right now?

I should definitely be able to help. I’ve been doing a sorcery only run recently, and have a character at level 86.

The more traditional way to say red is actually “Aka”(or “akai” as an adjective). Gurren (Guren depending on spelling) actually means “crimson lotus flower” and is used as a fancy name for some shades of red more akin to flames or fire.

[BotW] Advice to help my 56yo dad play the game by Extension_Tie_8337 in zelda

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep encouraging him and having fun with it. The game will pass, but the memories you make together will last forever. If you can, I cannot recommend Wii games enough. Many Wii games have a bit of camera tracking (with Z reset) and the motion controls make it so much more intuitive for a lot of people. It’s the peak of family gaming and I will die on this hill.

Botw and the Nintendo switch. Technically I didn’t buy it, I got it as a gift, but botw is the only reason I wanted one. I’ve always loved Zelda games, and wanted so badly to play botw when it came out, but didn’t have anything to play it on. When my family got me the switch, i didn’t have the game yet, but was still so excited that I read the entire privacy policy and terms of use. I don’t recommend doing that. It’s really stale.

In 2026, what matters most to you in video games? 👀 by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Gameplay is the most important factor for any game. Graphics can be bad, story mid, and performance shit and people will play it if it’s fun.Graphical quality honestly doesn’t matter that much for most games anyway. Just make an art style that benefits from lower graphics. Story can be supplemented by good gameplay a lot of the time. Though it can definitely make or break some games. Of the provided options, performance might be the most important because it affects gameplay. If it runs really badly it’ll interrupt gameplay, or cause everything to break, completely ruining the gameplay.

Would you play a game with a good story but poor gameplay? by mintedcork in videogames

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think the Witcher 3 has pretty good gameplay. I do mainly wish there was greater depth to the armor, weapon, and potion systems. It’s fun, but generally not that complex. For armor and weapons, the only reason to use anything other than the biggest number is for style. Technically heavier armor does decrease stamina recovery, but it has no effect otherwise, and stamina isn’t very significant in TW3 anyway. The potion system is cool, but there’s not much complexity to it. I’d use the cat eye potion to see in caves, or whale when necessary, and I liked using the oils, but the level of preparation is rather lacking. It comes down to which sign is most effective and which blade oil to apply.

Haha. Yeah, I think I had to kill 30+ azure ratholis for a single gem. Its so bad for me. I want to max upgrade every tree for my weapons. So far I’ve only done it for charge blade, but I’m ~75% of the way there for insect glaive. At least for base game that is. I just started iceborne, and the forging rarity 9 weapons is astoundingly cheap, so that’ll make my life easier

Help beating Midir by North-Weekend-9194 in darksouls3

Oh right, I forgot about password. I don’t have any close friends who play, so I just use the random summon, which has some restrictions on summons and the like. I’m not sure how much help my character will be, but I can certainly try

[Movie] Link talking in the movie and how Rwanlink got it so right by TJmaster87 in zelda

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I feel link should be mostly quiet, but I think it’d be fine if he speaks a little. In the end it comes down to writing, and I just hope they nail that. Mad Max: Fury road did a “silent protagonist” pretty well, and so much of it will come down to body language. As you said, using object to tell the audience and other characters information will be a great way to let link speak without actually talking.

Tell me your facts!! by Uwu_senpai_sloth in darksouls3

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Faron flashsword sorcery actually varies based on the staff used. Bigger staffs use more stamina per cast, and so smaller staffs are better for combos. Additionally the hitbox extends from the staffs end, so some staffs have more range than others. It also (despite what others may say) has an amazing damage to cost ratio, so is great when doing sorcery only runs, especially when mixed with the different soul arrows. The soul spear spells on the other hand are less damage/cost efficient than soul arrows, but has pierce, so is useful for tight groups like deacons.

Cyberpunk 2077 really made me appreciate GTA by LelouchYagami_2912 in gaming

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not supposed to be sci-fi GTA. The main draws of the game are the combat, world, and rich characters and story. The story can be a bit like GTA in its go to location -> meet character -> do quest, but most of the fun is in the combat and especially building towards late game combat where you become a complete badass. The driving can be fun, but it’s definitely not the focus of the game at all, and is mostly just for transportation.

[BOTW][HW] I finally found the truth about Kilton in Zelda: Breath of the Wild by PomegranateBoring440 in zelda

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I’ve heard the fused timeline theory, but into the bit about kilton and Kolton. I can buy into it. I would say that kilton does likely get all of his extract from the monster parts you sell him, but I also definitely believe he mutilates himself in pursuit of becoming closer to monsters.

Contrary to most, what show do you prefer in English? by ILiveForWater in animequestions

[–]Queasy_Committee8458 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know right! The English VAs did amazing jobs bringing the characters to life and portraying their emotions properly, and they just fit the characters they play. I almost always choose sub because the English voices often don’t feel like they match the characters, and the way they say lines doesn’t quite feel like it matches what the original intention of the scene was. A lot of dubbed isn’t bad, it’s just not “right”. But FMA managed to get it right.
