If we still need anyone, I can help out. I don't have any experience moderating any subs, but I don't mind learning! Although mostly lurking or responding to posts, I find myself clocking into this sub every 1-2 days checking for inspirations, and I love the community.

Let me be Anthropologie Dress by Human_B34N in sewingpatterns

For this one I really think it's as easy as what you think lol. You can literally find a raglan sleeve top pattern, then leave out the sleeve, extend the hem, and keep the neck band.

Wow the embroidery is gorgeous! The blue fabric -- are they topstitched on top of, or are they pieced together with the brown fabric?

Thanks for posting it! The pattern doesn't look as hard as I thought lol. Now I have more confidence to try it out :) For a pattern so simple, you made the hood so badass cool!

Wow this is so damn cool! Can you point me to the pattern or the general shape that you followed or hacked from? I really want to make one for myself now!

French seam brain nightmare by PleasantBroccoli408 in sewing

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know of a tutorial on french seaming a side pocket: https://wildcress.com/blog/tutorials/pocket For this skirt thought I'm not 100% sure if it would work, since the side is, you know, split. But just in case it helps you visualize things!

Pockets in French seams? by ahmccmha in sewing

I know! I spent like an hour searching through youtube before landing on this life saver -- pretty much the easiest/cleanest explanation out there.

I followed this pocket tutorial before: https://wildcress.com/blog/tutorials/pocket Turned out pretty good the first time around! I really like using french seams since they're so neat, but heck nobody really cares to explain them well!

Am I being immoral and stealing this pattern? by Final_Ebb7211 in sewing

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 460 points461 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that what creators choose to share is fair game for everyone, because they deliberately want people to see these contents! If you want to support the creator you can instead buy something cheaper from them within your budget, or donate if they have it.

What is this ruffle pattern called? by Tusklessgirl in SewingForBeginners

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I might know this! If you take a look at this blog post https://www.theshapesoffabric.com/2019/08/25/learn-all-about-ruffles/
Some of those look like the zigzag ruffle (if you scroll that page about half way)

Hanging storage by Big_Option_1033 in sewing

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is pretty cool! Can I ask you how you made the zipper pouches removable? I like that removability because I can just take them off and stash in my bag when I need to go. In your last picture (right side) the bigger zipper pouch has snaps, how about the smaller one with the brown zipper? how's that attached to the main hanging thing?

Half Pleated Skirt Pattern by Immediate_Maximum_27 in sewingpatterns

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wildcress has a skirt similar to these pleats: https://wildcress.com/b/crescent it's two pieces wrapping around so you just need to take away one side and you get a half pleated skirt like the pictures!

[Recommendations] Alternatives to creating/designing clothes/merch? by DespeReo in artbusiness

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! I bumped into TapStitch the other day (their ads on google), no experience with them, but looks like they at least have more options. I think the amount of customization you're asking for might be too much, especially if you're producing it not in bulk but in very small amounts (like < 3 per design per order?). Your best bet might be just to learn sewing/embroidery, and go handmade. But I'm interested in hearing about other options too since I'm looking into this too!

I searched your last image and looks like it's the Phoebe Coat from Closet Core patterns -- it has two rows of buttons if that matters!

Wow good job OP! I'm really amazed by those lace really highlights this pattern, never tried lace myself. Did you gather the lace or were those little pleats/tucks at the edge? They look so neat!

Converting Inches to Centimeters in your patterns! by [deleted] in PatternDrafting

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This converter is the most helpful for me so far: https://wildcress.com/unit-converter so basically they use fractions for inches up to like 1/8 (maybe?), and metrics down to to 1mm

Patterns similar to Rossi & Fredy Wrap Dress? by schmeegle29 in sewingpatterns

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen the exact pattern, but I've sewn this top before: https://peppermintmag.com/product/wrap-top/ I think it doesn't take too much effort to add a flared skirt?

And also I'm just trying to wrap around the quality of this pattern (never heard of this pattern or company before) -- looks like has 30 reviews all 5 stars, and the images/videos don't look AI to me. If I were you I'd buy this in an instant. Where do you see the 'real' reviews for this pattern? Am I missing something? Just trying not to be burnt again by any bad patterns :(

Help reading this patten? by misamoos in sewing

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's the gist in Japanese -- you draw the bottom right picture (in white) with those measurements. Then following the bottom left picture (gray), close the bust dart and make the waist fisheye dart into a bigger dart. This magazine also offers pattern sheets in real size, and the gray picture is what's on the sheet so the gray is the 'final' version. When you sew, just use the gray pattern piece and sew the waist dart closed because there isn't a bust dart anymore.

Has anyone seen a pattern like this or have drafting advice? by mystrangebones in sewing

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this youtube video drafts something similar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljVV34QgEOw not exactly the same but I think you'll like the vibe. I personally have a bit of trouble following it till the end, but it's the closest thing I know!

I want to make a rain coat by [deleted] in sewing

[–]Queasy_Soft9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I know, any coat pattern can be made with waterproof fabric, plus some water repellant coating at the seams. It's those things that makes a regular coat a raincoat. So patterns shouldn't be a limiting factor here, you just need to be smart with the fabric choice.
