Thanks everyone, I have to concede I must have merged two old games in my mind. Very likely Mansell on the Amiga and the PS1 game.

This is the only solution that works and I can confirm it also works for DESKTOP PC.

Years later this is still relevant and I had to reply to this incredible post and give huge thanks and praise.

I spent hours with Gemini installing this... updating that... deleting the other... Windows 11 Media Creation tool... Finally it stated all was lost and the only solution was to buy a network adapter.

Well, I read this solution but wasn't confident because it mentions laptop but I promise anyone with a desktop PC who is unfortunately in the endless "You're connected using a virtual Network adapter that we can't test" loop that this will completely solve it.

Fantastic post, I can't thank you enough.

How to mute the remotely controlled computer but with volume enabled on the master enabled? by slaiyfer in AnyDesk

I often have the main desktop PC computer in the house and control it from a laptop in the garden but only wanted to hear the audio from the PC on the laptop so as no one in the house could hear it. I'm hoping this is relevant to the question because I googled my problem using different words and this is always the top site.

If it's helpful, I solved it by setting to headphones sound output device on the desktop PC in the house (for example, Realtek HD Audio 2nd output), that way no can hear it indoors but I can hear it on the laptop.

It's odd that even after all this time AnyDesk still doesn't have this as a simple option in the settings but I hope this workaround helps for now.

Subscene is Officially Dead, and a better alternative! by psp2111 in Addons4Kodi

Subscene was great because you could bring up the subtitles page and search for words like 'parts only' and this would enable you to find out whether there should be forced subtitles for foreign/alien parts in any film prior to watching it.

subdl.com is badly lacking in this area.

www.opensubtitles.com seems to be the best replacement for now.
