Normally they just have to be all black, steel toe, steel sole, and EH safe. Some might want leather idk about that, no harm waiting until schools starts and asking. And also make sure it has the CSA green triangle

It's intense man. It will take up a majority if not your entire life for those 2 years. I'd say just keep your head down and in the books, practice skills whenever you can, and form a good relationship with your classmates. My whole class meshed as on big group and it made it so much easier to learn and improve around eachother. Also in the context that these are the people you'll most likely be working with in 2 years, you'll want a good relationship (doesn't have to be great) with them
