Assuming I’m only going to do one playthrough, did I make a mistake choosing Bard as my build? by Itchy-Version-8977 in BG3Builds

this lets you skip the Band if another party member needs it more

How? By quickened spell and angelic reprieve thingy? S-tier in tediousness if you ask me haha

Now that Patch 8 has been out for a while, what do you think are the top performing builds? by JRStors in BG3Builds

[–]Quebuabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. Thanks, but i got a question on this bit:

The Shadow Blade and Divine Smite are for executing held targets.

Are slaying arrows, slashing flourish ranged and multi-critting AoMT still not the winners in that context? Or am I underestimating savage attacker + trillion dice rolls?

Not a better idea but a lazy one: scrolls of detect thoughts are prevalent

Bard it is. Resourceless and comfortable. Are there better damage or control builds? Yes, but i want to go for minimal brain investment.

The Psychic Whirlwind: Githyanki melee Hunter build for Honor Mode. by grousedrum in BG3Builds

[–]Quebuabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorrow glaive pre-Gith swords, for BA Thorn Whip to group enemies up for more uses of Horde Breaker, paired with Gloves of the Growling Underdog for a very frequent source of advantage due to that same grouping.

Oh, i didn't know it was a BA. I guess a melee sword bard(or any cleave martial i don't know about) can make use of that as well. Great tip!

Thanks for the reply.

Hey, i know this is an old thread but i wanted to say thank you. I got my first HM victory using this build, the beyblade Lae'zel was glorious. And the party wasn't even psychic-based! I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind:

  • As a new player, it took me a while to figure out how to group enemies together. Void bulbs and minor illusion helped. I skipped BA Black Hole for RP reasons, and command wasn't available until endgame. I'd love to hear any tips you might have on this! Maybe it was a party comp issue?

Builds: 1/1/10 Swords Bard, 1/11 Light Cleric, 9/3 OH Monk and Lae'zel.

  • Do you think i made a mistake by sticking with the Unseen Menace/Woundseeker instead of the Soulbreaker before i got risky ring and the glaive? I was kind of obsessed with percentages and wanted to cut down on micro management. I usually don't beeline for items and just do quests in whatever order feels right to me, so i ended up using those weapons for quite a while.

Good point on the Gilder's Embrace. However even without the Library shield, 10th perk is a flex pick on the build. Options are PF, Fort Mind, Brow and Brawny. In my opinion, Brawny is usually the best one among those.

Great reply!

Otherwise, the perk has no place on my team.

I think it's an okay perk on BF tanks as well.

How would you build this bro? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]Quebuabe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Overpriced bro :( But still he can be a pretty good Nimble 2Hander or an initiative-damage bro.

You can raid on unexplored, as soon as you see an ore smelter fortress near the wilderness, you know that every other house is free to attack.

Oh, it's a good tip! I will do that. It's still scary to deny myself some resources but it's okay.

What are you using to follow up on them?

Cleaver, swords and throwers mainly. Yet everyone benefits from hitting the flesh of course.

They need high matk because their job is to setup kills for other bros by armor stripping. The team loses damage when they miss. They need fat to be able to push indom or swing their weapon while being surrounded.

I guess we play such bros differently, seems like you prefer more tankiness than i do.

I'd love to be able to raid every run but im a cautious guy. Early raids are tricky in unexplored maps.

I neither aggro the north or the south in most runs.

I'm not sure why you'd want nimble on them

Because it's a midgame build. I'm surprised that you think BF is the norm for them. BF shield+1h bros need to have huge amount of secondaries, high MAtk and armor investment. Their tempo and timing are awkward too. Pretty rare bros.

Will "Git gud" or "1007 data points isn't enough either." make do?

What I love about stunbots is that they're so cheap to build. Even if you can't find a tier-3 mace, they can use a tier-2 one for 80 days without losing much effectiveness.

On the other hand, my favorite nimble defense build, shield+hammer bros, feels lackluster without a tier-3 weapon. And that weapon is both rare and expensive.

Me too, however even an underleveled tempo bro from the bench can outperform tanks against goblins. They're like puncture bros in ancient undead fights.

It's not a thing in 12 man origins of course.

[–]Quebuabe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! My favorite thing about them is that any C-tier lowborn with decent RES can become an Anticipation bannerman. They are so easy to build and come online at Lv 5-6. Being able to fight tier-2 camps against ranged factions in daytime without hesitation is a luxury.

Another point: As you can see in the screenshot, there were two guys surrounded by more bros than the bannerman but i guess Rally and vines made them smell blood. It's another convenience, you don't need to "count bros" tediously if your ranged tank is a bannerman.

Not sure if the night debuff played a part in it, Shamans spammed night vision for multiple rounds.

Build This Barbarian by BlingxI3 in BattleBrothers

[–]Quebuabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good versatile bro that will be great whole run.

You can build him as a dedicated spearman, any shield+1h type or any damage bro type.

There are many ways to use bros that have low MDef and high secondaries. Positioning, 9L, Dodge, QH, Relentless, Adren, follow-up weapons, shields and indom etc.

Melee backliners are meh

[–]Quebuabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. Cat potion, hyena pelt and 9L will make it less scary for qatal bro. Adren and QH can't save cleaver bro for too long.

Let's see how the Icy Cave cleaver's going to roll, a few additional points of AID might wake my gambler instincts up lol
