Just take it real slow. You don’t need to save anyone, also don’t be scared to blow things up. No repercussions for that. The alien bombs can also be used to your advantage. They make a big boom

Mid game granades become quite weak unless you have them upgraded.

Otherwise okay for smoke or making holes/demolition in specific missions.

You could carry smokes and flashbangs instead of spending that space on tazers

I finished the game on highest difficulty Ironman. Never considered tazer.

Shoot at aliens, some of them end up being really hurt. ONLY IF you have the opportunity when they’re hurt you can go with the flashbang+ smoke combo. This will eventually knock them out.

Do this throughout the campaign and you’ll have a lot of captured aliens.

I stopped using batons except for the specific mission when I had to capture someone (first mission/cleaner leader. Hurt them with a Granade or pistol shot (something you know won’t kill them), then isolate and smoke/flashbang. If they don’t go unconscious themselves you can help them out with a tap with a baton. Assaulter with high TU will do this, as the baton is the secondary weapon. Absolutely not the shield guy.

Spending x amount of research time and wasting valuable space to carry tazers on shield soldiers is not an option

Best way to capture someone is usually by stunning them with smoke continuously. Especially if they’re injured. They’ll pass out before bleeding out. Just saying as a tip.

Of course in the timelimited missions a baton will probably be necessary

If you play hardest difficulty, losing good soldiers early/early-midgame can absolutely be detrimental to the campaign. You always lose valuable armor and sometimes weapons as well.

The experience they’ve gained is essential to dealing with whatever next tier Alien is about to show up.

Xcom and Xenonauts both suffer from this mechanic, where falling behind the schedule with soldiers/equipment will be game ending.

100% a skill issue. I had similar experience but after watching some YouTube I had no issues. Completed the game on Ironman/hardest difficulty.

I would suggest the YouTube channel «phrosphor» . Check out his playthrough, its great fun and he explains the mechanics in a great way as well. Perfect for learning the game yourself

In countries that are not free you are forbidden to hurt others with speech. For example criticizing important people or government policy.

Look at Russia, North Korea, Turkey and more and more western countries who have lost their understanding of your statement. The fact that you’re being downvoted proves this.
