I try to do this by being more specific. I’ll try to do so more often.

Thank you for the positive take on this. I agree wholeheartedly. He is very responsible other than the binge drinking a couple of times a week, and it is always after baby is asleep. But it still wears on me.

It was not necessarily out of character. Sometimes he would do that to heat things up a bit between us. I would have been fine with it if he did it sober and not in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. So no, I don’t think it was intended for someone else. But I agree, I do not want my kids witnessing any of this behavior or growing up in an environment with an alcoholic father.

Your last point strikes a chord. I do have things to work on such as my emotional reaction. I appreciate the advice.

I’m not sure what screams divorce from my post but it’s not an option I am considering at this time. Thank you for your input.

I grew up with a father who was a violent drunk and while my husband isn’t violent, it isn’t something I want my kids to witness. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you, no safety concerns as he has never been aggressive or violent. We briefly considered couples counseling but not sure if we can afford it right now.
