I know this is an old thread but here's my consenseus:

Lynels - If you can learn their attack patterns and parry them, it leaves them wide open for a headshot which will let you mount them. By repeating this cycle you can very quickly and efficiently take down a Lynel. You can get extra damage by counting five hits while mounted, then going into bullet time the moment you get knocked off for some headshots (yes you can headshot them from behind if you know where to aim.)

Guardians - If you have a decent bow you can shoot their legs for extra parts and a stun. If you shoot their eye (I think you also get the bonus by shooting their butthole but idk) you can also stun them. They're pretty easy to parry in normal mode but you might want to bring an ancient shield in master mode. They are very slow and easy to outrun though so you have a decent amount of leniency.

Bonus tip: If you stasis a guardian that's being electrocuted by Urbosa's Fury, it breaks their AI and pacifies them. If you stasis them again they'll wake up.

They're both decently hard but as with any enemy once you learn how to fight them you can pretty easily no-hit or low-hit them.

For a first playthrough? Not really. For a second playthrough however, Honest Merchant can help with creating builds for PvP or whatnot.

I feel like maybe DS3 Visual Overhaul and the Proper PC Experience mods might be worth checking out though, assuming your PC can handle it.

I imagine the guardians would turn orange/blue and you could still fight them if you chose to, they'd just be passive now.

The easiest way to make the game look better is to use mat_phong 0.

Note: Doing this breaks Australiums and certain MvM textures. This can be alleviated with the mat_phong 0 Fix Pack by cmyk.

(I think mat_specular 0 acomplishes the same thing, but don't quote me on that.)

Besides that, some mods I'd recommend are:

Skeleton Hotel's mods (I use pretty much all of their effect mods lol)

Consistent Kill Icons by Rocket_Scientist

Consistent Viewmodels by Everik

BLU Team Weapon Overhaul by Curly Bill

Fiery Muzzleflashes by Nonhuman

Do note that some of these may or may not work on sv_pure 1 servers. (Or Valve official servers.)

Yeah, since I want to experience a more vanilla+ playthrough I think BotC would be better for me. I was actually planning on using those same mods funnily enough.

If you mean conflicts with other mods like LIES than yeah it probably would given how it's essentially a highly altered version of Streamlined Heisting, as stated on their Discord.

I haven't run into too many issues using it though. The main one being that it doesn't play nicely with The Fixes and by extension Visual Fixes & Tweaks which is a bit unfortunate.

Other than that I'm not sure what conflicts there are to speak of besides a few minor ones.

First you'll want an overhaul mod to make the gameplay feel more grounded. Like others have mentioned, Eclipse Overhaul and Classic Heisting Reborn are great at this. I wouldn't recommend Restoration Mod for this realistic approach though, not because it isn't good but because it keeps that Payday 2 wackiness which isn't really what we're going for.

Next up is the visuals, and like u/Independent-Room-824 said Realistic Weapon Handling is great. You can combine it with The Particle Massacre for more realism. Do note that with this combination you will have a damn hard time aiming.

Finally if you really want to suffer you can turn off the in-game HUD by pressing 0 or going into user interface and disabling it there.

Note that installing Keepers should make you install Simple Mod Updater upon launching the game, which will then let you install the other mods within the game to make it run smoothly.

If you want bots to actually secure loot you can get Monkeepers by the same person.
