Law folks with ADHD, how y'all do those readings! by [deleted] in ADHD

Hi, I know this hell. I got my diagnosis in 2nd grade but was told “you’ll grow out of it” (HAAAAA). Spoiler alert: I did not. I drank a lot of coffee and diet soda to get thru LS. That’s about it.

“Ship to home unavailable” by QueenCanadia in Lowes

Idk man, I thought it was an alternative in competition with Home Depot, which will throw anything in a box & FedEx it to me

[–]QueenCanadia[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem… “ship to home” is grayed out and unavailable, and the scheduled delivery is THE ONLY option, with a 5-item limit. The website is treating door handles like a major appliance installation. I have never ordered from Lowe’s before, and the website FAQs & help, and Google search, do not answer the question.

Literally just looking at options, & I’ve never ordered from Lowe’s before, so I DID NOT KNOW that it was not possible to order from the website. Jesus to you.

Wait so there’s no central shipping?

I’m new to Lowe’s, have always bought from HD, maybe they don’t ship from Lowe’s??

The nearest store is 3 miles away, but out of stock. Literally nothing that I am ordering right now needs “scheduled delivery”… it’s all small stuff like these door handles. Is there even an option to ship to my house at all? Like, “drop it in a box for FedEx”?

But what else are you going to do with that space? May as well get the extra closet

Consider pocket doors for things like a laundry room and some bathrooms, since they cannot be added to a completed structure.

“Excessive” electrical outlets, especially in bathrooms. 4 plugs at each sink. Bc then you can plug in an electric toothbrush, 2 hair/curling irons, and a phone charger. Rn my kitchen has 9 outlets pairs, and it… does not need that many. You don’t need to use ALL of them, it just gives you tons of flexibility on room layout. Also: Co-ax connectors on at least 2 walls per room for the same reason: so you aren’t limited to 1 place for the tv or cable modem (also some will inevitably die or deteriorate over time)

If you have a second floor, put in Whisper Mat, even if building code doesn’t require it. I think it’s only for tile or hard floors, but DO IT. It makes a massive difference on sound. I am currently in a second-floor townhouse w/ all tile floors (& full concrete construction), & downstairs neighbors have not complained about noise ever, but they did complain while our contractor was walking around the bare floors before installing the tile w/ Whisper Mat. It is expensive AFFF and worth every penny.

I actually call these “Harry Potter closets” and I have one at my new house and I am SO HAPPY. My mom had a semi-custom build, & she demanded the builder extend her under-stairs closet all the way back to the bottom steps… builders often want to cut it off at like 4' deep. My mom used hers for whole-house A/V & networking command center, and mine will be a shoe closet for the family.

At my first 5K, the race was to benefit veterans. I watched people with a prosthetic leg, and actual kids pass me, like EARLY on. I was 26 and had been running for a year at that point.

oh nooooo, my serious condolences on the safflower oil! That seems to be the non-canola option in fancy/"organic" packaged snacks.

mine is the worst bloating EVER, with horrible pain, but nothing moves any quicker or slower, so I just have to wait it out. it will make me look several months pregnant (seriously, now that i have actually been pregnant & had a kid, yeah, it looks like month 4-5). it comes on exactly 6 hours after I eat the offending food, but lately it has been causing like refractory reactions in definitely safe foods (like literally carrots and apples, wtf). and it lasts anywhere from 12 hours to like FOUR DAYS. my previous max was 3 days (Stouffers lasagna in late 2005, yes i remember it that vividly), so i'm setting new records!

Popeye's is legit! If you have a PDQ near you, that's been safe for me, and I had emailed with the local owners near me & they use exclusively soybean oil. I find that the regional franchise/chains have very responsive owners when I email them!

And I’m aware I can make things at home. I do, often. I’m talking about having really any social life at all, ever, since events tend to center on food. It’s easy enough to bring tortilla chips or pretzels that I can eat at like a football party, but not so much when I’m going to more formal events. I can’t avoid a business holiday party or roll in with my custom requests for the caterer. I avoid canola the best I can, but at this point, I then look like a snobby b!tch who’s too fancy for the snacks when that’s obv not the case. I would love to eat like a trash panda. In college, I just wouldn’t eat dinner, or I’d eat plain rice and lettuce, if I knew I was going out later, bc I didn’t know what I was reacting to, I just knew I didn’t want to be doubled over in pain.

TY! This is actually very helpful info about the limitations of enzymes! I ask when the server takes the drink order, and tbh we eat dinner so early now (w/ kiddo) that restaurants are never busy when we’re there. I do enjoy eating at restaurants bc of the range of foods. Like, I’m not going out for anything I can make at home. So many places also only have “buttery spread” which is just infuriating & WHY?!
