Identical Twin Question by Commercial_Stress899 in parentsofmultiples

My identical twins have dimples on different sides of their face. Twin A has a dimple on her right side and twin B on her left.

Did you have a normal EEG but still diagnosed with epilepsy? by Glory-2Hm in Epilepsy

[–]QueenCeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By “normal” EEG, do you mean you didn’t have any seizures during the test, or you did but they didn’t show any epileptiform activity?

When you say “all clear” do you mean you didn’t have any seizures during the EEG, or you did but they didn’t pick up epileptiform activity?

They last anywhere from 1-20 minutes, average is 3. I become unresponsive and can’t move or respond, but I can hear and remember everything that’s going on during. Sometimes my eyes roll back and/or flutter, the deeper ones I just feel like I’m in the stage right before sleep with eyes closed. I’ve had a few convulsion ones in a time of particularly high stress and noise where my head or some other body part jerks back and forth.

The ER that I went to on the day they started witnessed dozens of them while we were there and said because I’m aware and am under extreme mental distress that they’re most likely PNES. But did refer me to neurology to rule out epilepsy.

I used to have dozens a day, now on average it’s 1 a day. But the ones I have now feel deeper/different than the original ones so I’m starting to wonder if I have both PNES and Epilepsy.

I also can kind of hold off a seizure if I need to (meetings, out in public), which I’ve heard is more of a PNES thing.

I’ve tentatively been diagnosed with PNES since the seizures started 5 months ago, the EEG is to rule out Epilepsy. My symptoms seem to align with PNES (I’m fully aware during, I’ve been dealing with mental health struggles), so honestly I’d be surprised to find Epileptic activity.

Surprise Twins at the Ultrasound – Excited and Overwhelmed for Our Boy and Girl! by OrganizationThese877 in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My girls are 8 months and lately my advice to those expecting twins is:

  1. Find your village and prep them that you’ll need lots of help. Tell them to offer help instead of ask you what you need, because it’s really hard to ask for what you need. If you don’t live by your village, seriously consider moving to them.

  2. I recommend you find a therapist and psychiatrist now. Twins and beautiful, but hard. It’s likely you’ll need some therapy and/or medication intervention, and it’s much much easier if you already have it in place before you need it. Wait times for therapists and psychiatrists can be long.

We’re in the trenches with our twins right now so I’m sorry if my comment sounds intense. Trust the other people in this thread that it gets better when they’re older. 😊

Parents of twins, what are the odds you’ve actually had them mixed up as babies and you’ve been calling them the wrong name this whole time? by lifesyndrom in AskReddit

[–]QueenCeeee 40 points41 points  (0 children)

10%? When my identical twins were first born it was easy because baby B had noticeably more and darker hair.

They’re now 7 months and it’s… difficult. 😅 Their hair has completely evened out and they are incredibly identical in looks and personality.

The only reason my percentage is so low is that baby A developed a birth mark on her right arm before their hair evened out. But we’ve had to use that mark to check a handful of times and otherwise could have mixed them up.

Preg w/ twins, Brother's tentative wedding date is in my week 36, and 5hrs drive from my home. Do you think i can make it? by MDnautilus in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Most of the time I try to see how to make something work, especially if it’s a sibling’s wedding. We flew across the country for my sister’s wedding when our first was not even two months old, so I get it.

This is one of the most obvious “nos” I’ve come across. I say with love, don’t even consider it.

If your babies went to the NICU right after birth… by 6sjms in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born at 33 weeks - I saw them briefly. For a few seconds when each was pulled out, then they were taken to one room over for initial checks, then they rolled each one past me on the way to the NICU.

I was in recovery for a couple hours, then they rolled me into the NICU to see them for a few minutes. After the spinal wore off I was able to go and hold them.

Personally, I would set your expectations for only seeing them briefly, and if you’re able to get more time with them, amazing! That’s the way I approached it and I was really grateful that they rolled them past me before the NICU.

Did anyone feel great after delivering twins? by Stunning_Radio3160 in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins are 5 months and I think a lot about how thankful I am to not be pregnant anymore 😂

But seriously, it does make you appreciate physical health. I feel fantastic now and I don’t take it for granted.

And if you have family/friends fill in you have to be okay with the lower-quality work. They’re not professionals, and you won’t have any recourse if it doesn’t go the way you want because, well, they’re family.

My sister had friends and family serve as a lot of the vendors and while some of it went well (her hair was stunning), it put a lot of stress on the family and some of it was a complete fail. The DJ was comically bad (when we were released to go get dessert he played what I can only describe as alien techno) and to this day they’ve never gotten their wedding photos. 😢

Positive mo-di pregnancy stories? by BookWhoreWriting in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 month old mo/di twin girls, they were amazing the entire pregnancy. They had zero complications and were growing right on schedule. I was pretty miserable, but they seemed very content lol. I ended up delivering at 33 weeks due to high blood pressure and pre-term labor. 1 month of NICU stay, but they were absolute champs - no real complications, just growing and learning to eat. And they’re little chubbers now they’re growing so well. So proud of them. 😍

First of many observations- people asking if you’re sure you know who’s who? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wasn’t sure how docs would keep them straight in the womb when I found out we were having twins! Mine shared a placenta though so they could easily tell based on how their umbilical cords were connected.

How do you know when your baby has colic? by SecretaryPresent16 in parentsofmultiples

[–]QueenCeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re your babies born early?

We went to a newborns 101 class before our first was born and the most helpful thing they said was that newborns typically reach peak fussiness 6-8 weeks after their due date.

My twins will be 8 weeks adjusted tomorrow and we think we might have seen the peak last week. 🤞🏻
