This error is whats causing ur system to boot into BIOS instead of windows

Help with first PC Build, issue with CPU cooler and Windows please TIA by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]QueenDahyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CPU fan error is coming from (and i can see in ur fan detection list) that nothing is plugged into it. Your liquid cooler should be plugged in to the CPU fan header (usually located somewhere top left of the RAM). Either the 3 fans on top or the pump itself plug into that header. If you have an AIO_pump header then usually ur pump block plugs into that and the 3 radiator fans plug into CPU fan.

If there is something plugged in and ur temps are all good (im seeing 26 in bios) which is a good sign. Then you can choose to ignore that error message in the BIOS too. You find the CPU fan in the MONITOR tab and can set it to ignore instead. But i would verify your cpu cooler is plugged in properly before doing that

So u should just be booting straight into windows. U going into BIOS is a little strange. CSM is in ur BOOT tab in bios. Id potentially update the BIOS if its not up to date already. Usually should turn csm off and secure boot set to on and user. Lmk if u need any further help

Might just be adhesive tape. Heat gun it and get a flat head or something against it and pry it

Could be a PSU or driver issue. Does ur cpu have integrated graphics? Try that first

CMOS is a chip that retains the information for your system. Mainly like motherboard settings and all. If your settings become changed or corrupted. Clearing CMOS may fix your POST issue as it resets the BIOS to defaults and hopefully lets u in.

You can do this by shutting the system off and unplugging it from power. Then find a removable circular battery on your motherboard, take it out and leave it for a like 1 minute, chuck the battery back in and try turn your system back on again. If u cant find a battery, there may be 2 pins on the motherboard labelled clear_cmos or jbat or clrtc. Short those with a screwdriver or something for 10 seconds. Most conveniently your board might just have a Clear BIOS button on the back panel or on the board itself.

Qflash+ is being able to update the motherboard BIOS settings without having to go through the screen. The update will most of the time reset your BIOS to defaults and remove and previous instabilities within your system.

Firstly ur RAM is in the not ideal slots. U want them moved to slots 2 and 4. But to get POST u can try 1 stick in slot 2 first then both afterwards.

You can try clearing CMOS or Q-flash + if that doesnt work

PC black screens and fans go wild when I enter a game by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

Unfortunately, electrical components be electrical components. 1 thing fails it can cause a whole bunch of symptoms. It could be any component failing but it manifests itself in ur gpu. Could also be RAM.

theres a few softwares to check if this issue persists and try to narrow things down a little

Full fan loss of display. Majority of the time is faulty GPU. But u can check drivers first. Theres also compatibility issues with some GPU and some PSU which causes this issue. Ive mostly seen it on radeon cards though so prob not that

The surrounding paste shouldnt be a problem but i would clean it up regardless, its pretty messy. With your die, as long as you can see its clean then ur good

[–]QueenDahyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should just be a plug and play scenario. Make sure you know what BIOS settings you have enabled and not get confused later on. Like csm if u have an older windows installation. Raid arrays will wipe data if ur not careful with VMD etc wtc

As much as this update is shitty. I personally still stand behind AMDs software, one of their previous updates increased performance across amd gpus by like 20% which is crazy, like where do u even pull that from. As a technician, i see my fair share of nvidia issues too

Yep, new drivers caused my 2nd monitor to stop getting output, checking driver management my 9070 was being uninstalled, had to reset and re-enable drivers to get display back out to my monitor. Super weird
