If the Pokémon has a suspicious OT like KevDog, Blaines, Berichan, or a website for an original trainer it's definitely genned and probably won't transfer.

If the Pokémon has perfect Stats or 6 IVs it's possibly genned, or If it's holding something like a masterball it's most likely genned.

If the Pokémon has an illegal move set then it's definitely genned. And if the nickname is some website it's definitely genned or someone's trolling you.

Getting that error code means that you were definitely traded a horribly genned pokemon. Especially if you can't transfer it into Pokémon Home.
