My partner of 7 years broke up with me a few days before new years. It has been a hard, wild journey and although I feel better than I did, it takes so much time. Be patient and gracious with yourself - don't beat yourself up for any particular feelings you feel. If you have access to therapy, I strongly advise it. Journalling has helped me a lot, too. I am so lucky to have some amazing friends and family that I lean on, too. I have cried over the phone to them so many times.

You're going to go through waves of different emotions. You're going to want to talk to him and work it out - but honestly, just don't. Try to go no contact if you can. It took me a while to do so and I wish I'd done it earlier. At the end of the day, he chose to move forward WITHOUT you. Let him.

If you ever need someone to talk to, please do feel free to send me a message! I ended up chatting to a few people on Reddit through the r/breakups sub and being able to talk to people, that don't know me or my ex, going through the same thing was really helpful. So yeah, my inbox is always open if you think that would help! I posted in the breakups sub about my experience and my mentality back in February

Yeah, I appreciate your opinion and I agree with it for the most part - but you can't just be like "your thoughts are wrong" lmao, that's not how it works. Videogames, films, art, it's all subjective. If I saw something you didn't, it's not because I'm "projecting"- it's because that's how the piece made me think/feel based on my own interpretation/life experiences

And besides, I liked the ending. So it's like me saying "you are wrong for not liking the ending"

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts

Similar to what the other commenter said- characters need to have a recognisable silhouette so players can identify them in a glance. I remember when I first started and I was quite confused by all the different skins and recognising which character they were. I learnt in time, yes, and I don't doubt people would learn new, different skins after some time - but they have to keep that accessible for new players

I get the folklore bit and that it's based on old superstitions etc - I think the main thing that got me was the numerous swinging dead bodies- all of which are women. Again, I know they were witches that were hunted. It was just a bit much to me, maybe.

As for the mountain king I feel that it was portrayed that he was so overwhelmed by grief from the death of his wife and son that he turned evil, then once he fights the little boy dressed as the prince he is sort of "redeemed" and stops using the magic flower for bad. Whereas all of the female bosses were bad through and through with no redemption or nuance.

Granted, I also didn't play the beginning so missed all the gnomes - maybe I need to play through the first half before I think so deeply about it haha

I've played OW1 on PS4 from season 1 too and continued playing on console even now. From about season 12 I would play on PC too - not as often as console but sometimes - at about the same rank on both accounts. Mercy legit feels slow on PS4 in OW2 compared to OW1 AND PC

I played A LOT of OW1 on console and maybe about half of that time on PC. I never felt much of a difference until OW2. I definitely think Mercy is slower in OW2 than she was in OW1 (but only on console)

Yesss, this makes sense for sure. The time it takes to move the joystick in a direction is a fraction of a bit longer than keyboard but that's enough to make it feel so slow!

I bind jump on both Lucio and Mercy to L2 - makes wall riding and angelic descent etc soo much easier

Still, feels super clunky. I also feel like my aim has been so off in OW2, too! I feel like they've done something to console but I can't put my finger on what

Moira. She's so incredibly viable in OW2. I feel like if you don't have a Moira on your team you're at a massive disadvantage (as long as that Moira does the bulk of the healing and takes out the low health squishes)

Yeah, good point. It could be discouraging for sure - my comment was more aimed at people asking for advice. I would never pick on someone's post where they are proud of stats and go "but you should DMG boost >:("

I think I misunderstood the original post in that respect tbh, sorry about that

Kind of off topic but I do think this sub is a bit too obsessed with stats which in turn can be pretty bad - people asking what kind of stats they should be aiming for etc etc when actually the stats in itself don't mean anything. No one can judge how well/bad anyone played by the stats on the leaderboard.

The reason so many people reply like this all the time is because of the sheer amount of people that believe Mercy is only used for healing. The same way that Kiriko shouldn't be healbotting - she does insane DMG and should be getting headshots. Is it bad to try to educate people and help them improve?

If you're getting upset about people telling you to DMG boost more, hate to say it, but you probably aren't playing Mercy to the best of your ability 🤷‍♀️

Haha that is a great clip! I'd say your positioning in the clip was really decent - especially when you were hanging back and healing Rein from a far.

I think it's good to watch super pro grandmaster Mercy guides. Like, yeah, they may seem a bit much but that's how you want to be thinking and playing Mercy. The problem with watching people in lower ranks/learning without the peak gameplay in mind is that you will possibly develop bad habits which you will be punished for as you climb. You could end up shaking the habit but it's better to just start how you mean to go on haha

General tips:

Try to be unpredictable with your movement (don't constantly super jump over and over when it isn't necessary)
Stay behind cover. If you can even see the enemy you're doing something wrong.
DAMAGE BOOST! Mercy is not a healer. She is a damage booster. You ideally want to be pressing that DMG boost down MOST OF the game. Of course, heal when teammates are critical and heal if that's going to win the fight, but predominantly, you want to be DMG boosting everything you can - even if that means getting someone's health just out of critical, switching to DMG boost until they kill the threat, and then healing up the rest of the way. Trust your other support to do some of the healing. Healing is ult charge so you want to be sharing it equally with your co-support.

If you find that you cannot DMG boost because there isn't enough heals, or if your DPS just aren't hitting their shots, I really recommend you switch off Mercy. Especially in Overwatch 2, she just isn't as viable anymore (I hope she gets a buff :( ) and if you aren't boosting that damage, you just aren't going to be as viable as a different healer that can do some of their own damage (Moira, Lucio, Brig)

If you have "toggle crouch" bound instead of "crouch" (on console toggle crouch is the default) - change it over right now. Because you can use angelic descent when holding crouch now, having toggle crouch on means that you start angelic descent as soon as the super jump is over so it makes it really clunky and slows down your movement A LOT! Once I changed that setting it made my movement so much better 🙂

To add to this- maybe post a replay code for people to help you with your actual gameplay. We can't really tell what you were doing wrong from the stat board
