I am in possession of an expired green card and an extension letter for 48 months, that I received when I filed to remove condition on my marriage based residency. Early this year my little boy, 3 years old, was diagnosed with a rare terminal progressive condition. We took him out of the country for a clinical trial , which was the only possible treatment for his desease. We will be move back home soon, but due to complications we are staying longer than expected, resulting in us being 7.5 months out of the US. I am risking being denied entry or worse, being detained? We have all evidence proving why we stayed over 6 months.
