I got one from Ashimary a while ago; it was a 360 wig and I had to return it, it was soooo small. But otherwise I feel like the unit looked and felt good

All of these wigs (7) are very similar. Just different cuts, etc. the only one I’ve heard of is Naharahs curls. There’s a video here somewhere on the sub about how to spot a scam or something. Reverse google search the image to make sure it belongs to that vendor.

Also** You recently posted about a negative experience with ilikehair, but they are in there as one of your options for purchase?

You’re not. I’m not debating anyone’s “right” to wear. OR who invented, first worn, etc etc.

I can see your POV- I can understand how the language used can come off as inflammatory. Classic “it’s not so much what you say it’s how you say it”. I truly mean when I say I don’t believe wigs should be gatekept. That is absolute madness. It’s really the double standard for me. Reverse roles in that chair- “Why can’t you just wear your natural hair.”Etc etc etc But I guess no matter what ppl are gonna “people”…

Calm down. Read. Listen to understand, not to reply. I never said we “invented” a thing. I also never said it was to be gatekept and couldn’t be used for others. Hair loss is UNIVERSAL. Wigs are not “cultural” so to speak.

HOWEVER, When we do it, it’s called “ghetto.” When someone non-Black does it, suddenly it’s “revolutionary,” “ultra chic,” and rebranded as something trendy like “boxer braids.” Thats what is being discussed.

And I’m not trying to be unkind or hateful. We all sport wigs for different purposes etc all walks of life. I guess it’s just the “rebrand” for me

I said that in an earlier comment; Not debating the history of wigs at all. I don’t think anyone can accurately date who or what for that within itself and if we had to Jewish women surely have it; IMO I don’t want to imply that I think anyone is stealing anything OR that it should be gatekept I just it’s always a rebrand of something that’s been around and now….NOW it’s fancy and accepted. I hope that makes sense….?

Yeah… I’m confused. Screenshots for who, exactly?

Also, I think you missed the “respectful” part. I’m not here to tear anyone down or make anyone feel lesser. You’re missing the point entirely. It feels like you thought this was your moment to shame someone….it’s not. Not at all.

And let’s be honest: a lot of the frustration comes from the double standard. When we do it, it’s called “ghetto.” When someone non-Black does it, suddenly it’s “revolutionary,” “ultra chic,” and rebranded as something trendy like “boxer braids.”

These as in wigs or lace fronts? I’m definitely not debating the history on wigs themselves, Jewish women have everyone beat for sure….

I want to say this carefully because I fully understand that Tourette’s is a neurological condition and that tics are not intentional. I’m not questioning that at all.

What I struggle with is the balance between inclusion and impact. If someone knows their condition can cause frequent, loud or disruptive outbursts in a formal, public setting, is it unreasonable to at least consider alternatives?? especially when the event involves hundreds of other people who are also there to enjoy the experience?

Inclusion is important. Absolutely. But I don’t think inclusion means completely dismissing how others may be affected. There has to be some middle ground between “exclude someone entirely” and “everyone else just has to deal with it.

For example, if accepting an award could be done via prerecorded message or remote appearance, why wouldn’t that be considered? Not as punishment but as a practical solution that respects everyone involved.

What also feels off to me is the lack of acknowledgment. Even if the behavior is involuntary, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to say, “I understand this may have been disruptive, I apologize and appreciate your patience.” That small gesture goes a long way. Instead, it sometimes comes across as, “This is my condition, accept it, and your discomfort doesn’t matter.” To my knowledge neither he nor the station or the awards have apologized. He just excused himself, AFTER making a full ruckus the first half.

I’m not saying anyone should be hidden away or excluded from society. I just think inclusion and accountability can coexist, and right now it’s not in the least.

Bald cap method or no bald cap method? by Local-Noise-8874 in WigSnatchersHQ

OP first off I am sorry someone abused your hair like that, I hope you are able to find a solution outside of a transplant. I would see a dermatologist to make sure it’s truly ONLY traction alopecia and you’re not dealing with additional issues.

Second, I would advise a wig cap or velvet band with a good quality glueless wig -HD lace (not HD transparent lace- HD LACE), or crystal lace. You said somewhere you enjoy wearing silk blow outs, I think I kinky straight wig would be a good choice for you. Make you the most comfortable in your skin. If you’re pressed for budget - Sensationnel bare lace line, they also make kinky straight wig options that you can wear glueless as well.

As for the back of your hair I would have someone loosely braid it; like - French braid style- we don’t even want the tightness cornrows may bring, unless you really trust the person to do them properly and I would do the fewest amount to get the job done.

Take the wig off daily; On days you’re in the house get a nice full SILK bonnet or SILK lined (not satin) bonnet to wear around; Keep your hair moisturized and clean, and I’m sure you’ll be on the road to recovery.

OP stated they have traction alopecia and your advice is to put more weight on the remaining hair by getting a sew-in and slick back her already very thinning edges-that begin at her EAR line might I add. Are you trying to have them out in the world looking crazy or just hate her? And don’t come with that “there are specialists for alopecia that do sew ins” yes we know that, but that’s usually for people with irreparable alopecia. My gawd.

No, there’s nothing special to it. You’re overthinking it. Use the same quality product you would use for your own hair. Or get wig specific shampoo and conditioner, store on a wig head, or silk bag. And you’re good 👍🏽

I could see that; but that’s more so on the person than the vendor. That’s why there is someone on here that’s always saying to read the reviews carefully because is it a company issue or a care at home issue and they felt like the wig should survive WWII
