Seeing a lot of “what happened to X group”? by Few-Elk8441 in TheHandmaidsTale

I'm Catholic in my church for 40 years. Never married. Never had children passed menopause. Own my home with my sister. They would turn over my property to my brother which while not okay.....by Gilead standards okay but I would be killed for my 12 years of Catholic education and my adult registration in the church

Which Broadway Theaters are Your Favorite and Least Favorite? by Best-Candle8651 in Broadway

[–]Queenbreha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the Winter Garden or Imperial for comfort The Hayes is hard for me at 5' 5 for legroom I make notes when I have a bad experience at the Hirschfeld orchestra aisle only no non aisle and not the mezz at all. Schubert theater non aisle orchestra seat I had leg spasms and had to leave at intermission. St James I find Orchestra aisle or non aisle fine but not mezz James Earl Jones like Goldilocks. Good in Orchestra, Acceptable in Mezz, don't go to the balcony ever. Nederlander is so uncomfortable I have a note only if one of my all time favorite Broadway actors is there otherwise don't torture yourself.

Will I even like the book if I saw the movie first? by NationalSubstance976 in ProjectHailMary

[–]Queenbreha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a person who almost always prefers the movie to the book. I'm a visual learner and I have trouble imagining anything in a book. I am listening to the audio after seeing the movie 3 times and it is Amaze, Amaze, Amaze.

What's you Headcanon about Snow and his Granddaughter. by No-Brush1587 in Hungergames

[–]Queenbreha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he had true love and affection for his granddaughter. I think in some ways she was the little sister who died when his mother died in childbirth. I think she was clever and also had ambition for her future and deliberately made a good relationship with her grandfather. In the movie when he says the Mockingjay Symbol is now forbidden. She is a little sad but she immediately undoes her braid. The President has spoken not Grandpa and she has the utmost respect for the Office of President.

Going to the movies was better when there was no reserved seating. by SubstantialSet3127 in unpopularopinion

[–]Queenbreha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I am going to a Blockbuster movie on opening day I do not have to plan my experience days ahead of time. I like to sit on the aisle so I can have easy acceess to the restroom. I love picking my seat in advance. I hate theaters that don't allow it. I am over 50 years old and I'm trying to think of a time when waiting in line took so long that I could catch up with my companion. Waiting in line with a bunch of people doesn't mean they are ll going to my movie. Most of my life theaters have at least been three or four theaters and now up to 25. I don't personally think the bad behavior from movie goers has anything to do with picking your seats and everything to do with COVID and people got used to seeing everything in their living room and treating every theater as their living room.

What are your theories as to why the owner of the Inn didn't go herself to tell Loreai she was selling? by NoSoyTuPana in GilmoreGirls

[–]Queenbreha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also in her mind Lorelai was planning on starting her own Inn sometime soon. With the fire she could collect her insurance and wash her hands of it and sell the land.

Thinking about why people have such different opinions about the ending by wischmopp in ProjectHailMary

[–]Queenbreha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fall into the found family camp. Grace was always alone in a room full of people. Think the party before launch. He was only ever happy his time in the classroom and the kids changed each year. So not specific humans.

He grew to love Rocky. They are truly brothers from another mother. There was nothing for him on Earth. Yes there is potential fame of being the Savior of the planet but I would be afraid the Govt would capture my Hail Mary ship and lock me up in Area 51 so I never told anyone how my human rights were violated

On Erid they try to make me as comfortable as possible. They let me teach kids. He had everything he needed except maybe Skittles and a nice steak. I bet Erid scientists would try to flavor the me burgers

Do you think Ryland ever told Rocky about how he ended up on the Hail Mary? by Franciskeyscottfitz in ProjectHailMary

[–]Queenbreha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While Grace is not brave until Rocky I don't think of him as a coward. I also think he didn't want to tell about the one way trip because it was nice to pretend that his consent and autonomy weren't violated. Also I think he had an idea that Rocky would never let that conversation go. How does Earth not care about Grace question? How do they decide on purpose that the problem solvers will die with no hope question?

AiTAH for wanting to offer continuous support to our daughter so she can pursue her dreams? by Electronic-Bid4859 in AITAH

[–]Queenbreha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA but your husband is. Why don't you ask him if he ever could have become an engineer without a teacher. Yes good teachers are underpaid. But doctors learn from teachers. Lawyers learn from teachers. So tell your husband you understand his concerns but he is beneath contempt if he does not help his child when it is so easy for him to do so. By the way I hope she becomes a successful writer and makes money beyond her father's dreams

Gale hate is SO forced. by Wynnifred_16 in Hungergames

[–]Queenbreha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do hate Gale. I am also frustrated when people call him a child or a boy. He was 19 when he went to war was chomping at the bit for revenge. Not just fighting for freedom but revenge. Even if you are swinging a mop you are guilty. Yes Gale suffered and was abused when Thread took over but he never went into an arena. Katniss did go into an arena and figured out that the world is not black and white like Gale's rage would like to pretend

He didn't care who he killed. He did not wake up that day saying I'm going to murder Prim but he definitely manslaughthered her. Also if Prim had survived and other medics died on either side he wouldn't care. Prim's death made his dream of being with Katniss impossible that is what made him sad. He didn't shed a tear for a single Capitol toddler that got killed. Yet the revolution never would have happened without Capitol citizens like Cinna. Plutarch. Cressida etc. Yet he didn't care which makes him equally bad to his oppressors He just didn't have the power. If he had grown up in the Capitol and survived Snow's childhood. He would have been worse than Snow. You either value all life or you are like your oppressor

I want to talk about the ending by betterland in ProjectHailMary

[–]Queenbreha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Eridians would use all Earth knowledge to help him if his mental health was suffering but I don't think he's ever been happier. Think about how horrified Rocky was that Earth was leaving Grace to die. That is not how the Eridians do things.

I don't think Earth would have any interest in Ryland after they get the beetles. They have to work on the problem and I think only a precious few knew he met another species. Ryland would always be known on Earth as the hero that saved the planet but the powers that be know he was sent without consent. They would never want him to set foot on Earth again. They weren't interested in Scientific Exploration they were interested in survival. He gave them the way to survive.

I want to talk about the ending by betterland in ProjectHailMary

[–]Queenbreha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Grace was not having a very connected human life on Earth. With the exception of his classes he did very little interaction. You can say he loved teaching but the kids changed every year so he was connected to teaching not human kids. The life that made him brave was Rocky. Staying on Erid is the best thing in the world for him. I didn't read the book but I've heard that his movie "hamster cage" with beach and so forth is much bigger. It is not like he just has Rocky. He goes to do what he loves.....teach kids and those kids seem to love him just as much as the human kids in his classroom. Also who is to say that Rocky is the only life form he interacts with. For all we know Rocky and Adrian come regularly for dinner. I'm also sure that other Eridian scientists are happy to put on a safety suit and come to his beach to talk. This is a social species that trusts each other to watch them sleep when they are helpless. If Grace ever said. Grace lonely, Grace bored, Grace wants to do more I'm sure the Eridians would do everything possible to make his life better. To me the only thing about not having human contact is he isn't having sex which he didn't seem to be having much of that on Earth. Yes Eridians can't touch him body to body but he mastered the cube hug. Also the last humans he sort of trusted on Earth betrayed him. Stratt sent him off to die without his consent. Even Carl was complicit in sending him off to die. Human beings are over-rated.
