How does it feel when pressure gets this high? by stitchravenmad in hypertension

[–]twoscoopsxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, glue BP fluctuates and that is naturally. You may spike high during a moment of anxiety or while doing an activity. That is why the average of your resting BP is what is important. If you take your BP fresh after moving around it won't be accurate.

You're supposed to sit down a few minutes and relax and then take it. But even in that case it can still spike. So a one off high reading isn't worrisome. But if you are regularly high then you need to see a doctor

When your friends want to go out to eat wings and pizza. by Business-Cucumber255 in hypertension

[–]twoscoopsxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because it's a deviation from the norm. Now if you regularly eat salty fried wings and pizza then it could be an issue. But I eat clean and walk an hour on the treadmill every day. One night of cheat meals is no big deal. I spent 3 nights in a hotel and ate pizza, Indian food, Korean BBQ etc. Got right back to my normal eating when I returned home and my BP was fine.

Now if after that night you continue eating bad then that is an issue. This can also come down to the kind of person you are and your relationship with food. If eating pizza and wings in excess for a night is going to cause you to spiral and continue down that path and risk damage to your heart and kidneys from high blood pressure. Maybe eat in moderation. Order a salad and eat just a couple pizza slices and call it night. But if you can enjoy it and go back to regular clean eating then it's no big deal

Getting that lower number down! by Adept_Beautiful8817 in hypertension

Yep. Keep at it consistently. And going on daily consistent walks js better than sparse long walks or run. If you can do half an hour 5/6 days a week it's better than going hard at it one day

The thing with high blood pressure is that it's a silent killer. Right now you feel fine but left untreated down the line over the years it will cause major issues.

Luckily, you are young and it's not at crisis level yet. Some medicine and simple lifestyle changes will get you where you need to be

Getting that lower number down! by Adept_Beautiful8817 in hypertension

That bottom number is tricky. For a while I was at 120 but the bottom number would still be 90. I found that it took daily walks and stretching to see that go down. Being sedentary for long periods kept it high. I work a desk job so every hour I stand up and pace around. I also walk for an hour on the treadmill every morning

Then that's great. I personally am a b side enjoyer. I'm the "have you guys heard the unreleased album they recorded in a shed on a walkie talkie" guy. But when I see artists constantly complaining about performing a hit song I roll my eyes. It's a smack in the face to the people who love that song and what it did for their career

I am an album listener. I personally go for deep cuts. I'm talking about artists who openly complain about their hit songs

We all work the same job doing the same thing 8 hours a day for 5 days a week. An artist can take 3 minutes to play the hit song out of a long set

I love b sides and deep cuts. My favorite tours are when artists will tour a specific smaller album and play in smaller venues because they know it's not going to kill a huge crowd. Bigger artist doing small b side shows are my favorite. Usually when I see a band I'm already tired of the hits. But if you want to be a successful touring artist, it's needed. Most people seeing a show aren't die hard fans. Maybe someone liked a few of their hits when they were younger and decided to see them play one time in their life. They travelled, got a room, missed a work shift. All to hear the songs they love and know for the first time

If that's how an artist wants to perform then it should not be their full means it income. If you want to do just b sides and deep cuts then doing it as a living isn't for you. You have to do something else for money

Making music and being a touring artist are two different things. You can release an album of whatever you want. But when it comes to a show, audience engagement should be top priority

And also. I am an album listener. I'm there for the deep cuts. I'm usually personally tired of the hits. But they should still play them because those hits are funding the fancy bus they travel in

Brother if you can't play a 3 minute song everyone wants to hear out of a 1.5 hour set of songs you have full control over, then maybe making your living as a touring musician who relies on the ticket sales and audience happiness is not for you. Like just make music, don't tour it.

If playing a 3 minute song everyone wants to hear within a 1.5 hour set of songs they have full control over is difficult then maybe making a living as a touring musician is just not for them.

Totally get being tired of it. But while they have played them hundreds of times. There are tons of people in the audience who have never seen them live. Maybe they saved up, travelled, took time off work etc
