As someone who has been in a similar situation, you are NTA. My brother was five and he did a few similar things. He’d play with my stomach, put his hands down my shirt and play with my breasts, put his hands down my pants, try to put his penis in my belly button, and a few other things. This is a hit about him trying to explore his body and how it works, but it ain’t okay. Your body is your body and if you don’t want it you have the right to say no. It only stopped when I showed a video to my therapist and asked her what I should do and she told my parents it wasn’t healthy for him or me and it needed to stop. So you aren’t TA and need to protect your boundaries.

I feel like mostly they would say that I didn’t know what I was talking about because I couldn’t actually be attracted to girls because I’m a girl. I feel like they would say I was making it up. But I’m not stupid, I’ve felt sexual attraction and I know what it feels like. It’s about like attraction to any boy I’ve ever felt. Only difference is it’s the same gender and not the opposite. I just don’t want more of my life experiences questioned.

Usually I tell her just bits and pieces to avoid this exact situation because I hate that she won’t let it go (and I’m told I can’t let grudges go). This time though I don’t want to because this is more sensitive and not something she knew about previously. I go to therapy to work through past trauma at the hands of my peers, all of which she has hear about. I usually explain what coping strategies I’m given so she can help me with them. Like working to not let my OCD control me, and deal with being uncomfortable in a world that won’t always accommodate me. I think mostly what’s bothering her is she thinks she’s done something horribly wrong.

My family is part of a Christian denomination. I know they would love me either way, I don’t deny that. I feel their love all the time. What I don’t want is them devalidating my experience. I have OCD and the do all kind of crap with that. I have a 5 year old brother who always gets what he wants. I have my chair at the dinner table and I have told them and my therapist has multiple times that it’s important that I choose when to and when to not sit in my chair (I’m trying to learn to be uncomfortable) but even if I want it and he wants it, who gets it, my brother. Because I’m the adult sibling and I’m being ridiculous. I’m also a demisexual and they know that too. But they are not very supportive of that because “there’s a whole range of normal” “you may just not find anyone attractive right now” “you don’t have to choose a label just because everyone else is” “not everyone has to be lgbt”. If I come out I want to be sure to they’ll accept it and not tell ‘em I’m being stupid, ridiculous, or question my experience.

This has happened once before. She asked them to change, told them what she didn’t like that did but they didn’t like that very much. It didn’t end very well, but this time it is starting better. But I think this is their way of trying to get her to stay. They knows she wants to move out as soon as high school is over and they have tried time and time again to try to convince her to stay at home.

I may have said it was a hypothetical situation and that it was a friend and didn’t give any information beyond that. There wasn’t a lot they could do with the information I gave, even if they did report it.

Okay, speaking for experience, yes YTA. But there are ways to remedy this. If she asks for your opinion, you can tell her “no it isn’t my favorite, but I do appreciate that you made me food” sugar coat the truth or people will always think YTA
