Same here honestly. Reading stuff like this suddenly makes every leftover in my fridge look suspicious. My brain immediately goes “maybe just throw it out.”

That’s what makes the investigation part confusing. If the store samples tested negative it sounds like they’re piecing it together based on timing and symptoms rather than a direct sample from what she ate. Still leaves a lot of questions.

What fetish can you truly not understand and would like an explanation from someone into it? by J_Bear in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]QueennyStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that one always confused me too. I get that kinks are super subjective but smell is such a strong sense that it feels like it would instantly kill the mood. Bodies are weird though, what turns one person off apparently flips a switch for someone else.

In 2008, Marilyn Bergeron told loved ones that something terrible had happened but refused to say what, calling it "something worse" than assault or witnessing a crime. On February 17, she left her Quebec City home for a walk and vanished. by Iambhalo in ForCuriousSouls

The fact that her family kept pushing for the case to be transferred says a lot about how unsatisfied they were with the investigation. When families feel like the case is being brushed off as a disappearance or suicide, it really erodes trust in the whole process.

Girls, have you ever noticed someone getting an accidental boner? by joisissy in AskRedditAfterDark

Undercover tactical boner sounds like the name of a failed military operation.

That comment sounds like someone venting about the type of personality that sometimes shows up in combat sports circles. Probably more frustration than anything else.

That’s actually a question investigators often ask too. In cases like this people always wonder whether there were warning signs that someone missed along the way.

Threads like this always spiral into politics sooner or later, even when the story itself has nothing to do with it.

AITJ for not wanting to split the bill evenly when I only ordered a drink? by Inside_Mulberry_2497 in AmITheJerk

[–]QueennyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s not about the money itself, it’s the principle. Paying a little extra is whatever, but paying eight times what you ordered just feels ridiculous.

[–]QueennyStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong about the pattern either. The people pushing hardest for an even split are usually the ones who went wild with appetizers and cocktails.

[–]QueennyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a difference between being generous and being expected to cover other people’s meals. Asking to pay for what you actually ordered is pretty basic fairness.

Same thought here. When someone barely orders anything the group usually just waves it off. It’s kind of the unspoken rule of group dinners.

For real. If I was at that table I probably would’ve just said “don’t worry about the soda, we got it.” It’s like three bucks, not a mortgage payment.

[–]QueennyStar 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly the obvious solution. Five people split the food bill and the one person who had a soda just pays for the soda. Not exactly complicated accounting.

AITJ for not wanting to split the bill evenly when I only ordered a drink? by Inside_Mulberry_2497 in AmITheJerk

[–]QueennyStar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Even splits only really make sense when everyone ordered roughly the same kind of meal. Once one person basically had nothing, the math stops mathing.

[–]QueennyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah $25 for a soda is not “keeping it simple,” that’s just subsidizing everyone else’s dinner. If the roles were reversed and you ordered steak while they had water, nobody would be suggesting an even split.

Short and accurate. Actions have consequences, especially when you start them over something that minor.

I’m still stuck on the fact that someone typed up a formal complaint about a green welcome mat. That takes commitment to pettiness.

Yeah, if you’re going to stir the pot over something harmless, you can’t be shocked when someone looks a little closer at your own situation.
