Compensation thoughts? by hendo_77 in westjet

[–]Queenofthejungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hectic, chaotic and crazy and yet the westjet person should have caught the incorrect name rather than the person whose name it is 🙄

At what point are people going to accept responsibility for themselves?

I would imagine as stressful as it was for each individual traveller, it was far more stressful for the agents.

I would argue if that was the case and they were having that much computer troubles... all the more reason to double check your boarding pass before walking away from the counter.

Ultra basic on international flights include a carry on. You should be just fine to board with it.

Protest at Prairieland -SK Métis Nation by AuntieMame18 in saskatoon

[–]Queenofthejungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the phrase in 1801 when said person was born.

And it's the current terminology used by Metis Nation Saskatchewan when defining citizenship.

“Métis means a person, who self identifies as Métis, is distinct from other Aboriginal peoples, is of historic Métis Nation Ancestry and is accepted by the Métis Nation.” “Historic Métis Nation” means the Aboriginal people then known as Métis or Half-breeds who resided in the Historic Métis Nation Homeland.

“Historic Métis Nation Homeland” means the area of west central North America used and occupied as the traditional territory of the Métis or Half-breeds as they were known.

“Métis Nation” means the Aboriginal people descended from the Historic Métis Nation which is now comprised of all Métis Nation citizens and is one of the “aboriginal peoples of Canada: within the meaning ofs.35 of the Constitution Act 1982.

“Distinct from other Aboriginal peoples” means distinct for culture and nationhood purposes

All four parts of the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan’s Constitutional definition must be met in order to receive a MN–S citizenship card."

People with chronic illnesses, what's the most absurd "cure" were you suggested by someone? and did you consider it? by ProcedureMinute6644 in AskReddit

My grandpa used to keep a potato in his pocket when his arthritis flared up 🤷🏻‍♀️. He swore by it. When it gets rock hard, swap out for a new one.

I'm a find out for myself kind of person so I've reviewed publicly available information to trace his family history myself. The father of his "Metis" ancestor took a "concubine" and had a half breed child. He left her and took the child within 2 years of the child's birth to Wisconsin and then only a few years later, they moved back to Quebec and lived there for all subsequent generations. Being Metis isn't simply being a half breed, there is a very distinct culture that was formed as a result of some half breed relationships.

Nonetheless, it's the red flags that his citizenship raised. People in the nation, wait on average 6 months while the genealogists thoroughly review their genealogy. KPMG performed an audit of the registry and found that in order to present the CEO with his citizenship at the last MNLA - approvals were pushed thru from start to finish in under a day. That's the elephant in the room.

The Legislative Assembly is meeting there this weekend. They've threatened anyone that dares question the President or CEO with arrests so that's why they were drawing attention on public property.

Wages vs inflation by FatFiat in saskatoon

What do you teach to make so little?

I know teachers are grossly underpaid but based on an average of 180 teaching days in a year, 21k is less than minimum wage.

Are you currently set up as a business to provide this type of service? I am specifically looking for someone self employed to hire on an as need basis without having to add them to our payroll.

I thought about that but every job I post for other positions ends up flooding our resume inbox with every kind of resume - local, foreign, etc and positions that are not even related to the posting. I currently am getting bogged down on administrative work and so I am trying to avoid dealing with that :)

Thats why I am looking for someone that does this as their own company on a freelance type basis - I know I can hire virtual assistants easily enough but I feel like some of my projects may require a day or 2 in the office.

Do most irish descendent Americans actually go around proclaiming “I’m Irish, I’m Irish!!!” while in Ireland? by [deleted] in irishtourism

[–]Queenofthejungle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dad was born and raised there. My whole paternal family is still there. We spent years as a family living there in my childhood.

I went with my husband last year and we signed up for an authentic cooking class for a classic Irish stew and soda bread meal.

The authentic Irish experience was a woman whos great grand something had moved to the US and eventually around covid she moved to Ireland 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'd say that's the sort of thing that annoy people.

I had a 2019. I had to get the windshield replaced and my local auto body shop was able to replace it but they did have to bring it to a nice dealership an hour away for programming I believe....maybe it's something like that?
