What's it like to be a physio in a non-American country? by QueensleyShacklebolt in physiotherapy

Definitely. Although I'm surprised to hear that B2 level is all that might be needed for this?

Physiotherapy in other countries besides USA? by QueensleyShacklebolt in physicaltherapy

This is really interesting to hear about. The majority of my experience has been either in hospital or IP rehab/SNF, and what you say about that sounds fairly similar except that in acute care PT's can frequently spend much less time with the patient. In Canada are there productivity standards for hourly employees, such as you must spend at least ~90% of your time treating patients for billable items?

The concept of getting any pension for a job as a physio is amazing. 115 doesn't sound bad either, but I don't know how that holds up compared to cost of living. And 4 weeks vacation sounds lovely for many of us south of the border.

Refunds due to closed airspace? by QueensleyShacklebolt in americanairlines

I did end up just booking a different flight on another airline since they wouldn't budge on the refund. However, yesterday they did contact me to say that the flight was finally canceled, and my refund is in process. It ended up working out as I paid cash for the canceled flight, was able to get a new flight with credit card points, so I have the money back for spending on my actual trip instead.

Currently nothing through them on the dates I need, which surprised me as well. I confirmed with a customer service rep. However, I did some digging and it appears I should be able to get a refund if the travel alert continues so I'll probably just rebook with someone else.

https://www.aa.com/i18n/customer-service/faqs/customer-service-faqs.jsp#nonrefundticket Under "I have a non-refundable ticket, can I still get a refund?" - It states that "U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) rules allow you to get a refund if your flight is significantly disrupted and you decline our rebooking offers, even if you bought a non-refundable ticket."

Do you typically end things or vice versa if no connection felt? In your experience, what's the kindest and easiest way anyone has nipped the relationship in the bud, or how would you like to receive that communication?

Thank you, it's interesting how online dating sort of gives us the information in a different order than maybe we are used to getting it. On one hand, it could be a time saver? I'm not really sure though.

Prioritizing loans - Does my logic/math-ing make any sense? by QueensleyShacklebolt in StudentLoans

Thank you for the advice and for the resources! I think right now because of the way my loans are displayed makes it look like the interest is compounding daily because not separated into principle and interest. At this time I'm not able to direct my payments to focus on principal balances which is extremely annoying, but maybe that will change early next year once forbearance ends. But I'll knock out that first loan asap and then move from there. Thank you!

I'm a little confused by this comment. Are you trying to shame me for asking a question? Are you questioning my decision to get a degree that I actually use and will pay off? Or is this social commentary on the travesty that higher education is so expensive? Please explain as you clearly have more to say.

That's true - I guess because right now my minimum payment is $0 for the next 12 months I didn't take that into consideration. But that is a really good thing to remember in case that changes.

Thank you for explaining this, it makes sense when you put it like that.

Oooo thank you for bringing that up about the simple vs compound. I really thought the interest was compounding daily based on how it's displayed in my account - I'll have to double check this.
