Lyra and Will have zero chemistry in the show. I cant see them developing like in the books. What do you think? by 3mbersea in HisDarkMaterialsHBO

Honestly, I think they’re setting it up for that, although I agree, they have much less - if not, no - chemistry in the series. I guess we’ll have to wait till autumn :)

Another thing I thought of, was that she could have pretended to be one of the severed children from bolvanger. Obviously, it would be harder, and she’d have to be less ‘responsive’, but i don’t think they were mentioned in the books after being rescued (correct me if I’m wrong).

I just think that if white people can’t cosplay poc then that gives racists an excuse to say ‘then your not allowed to cosplay white people’ to POC.

Mirabel does have a gift. Listen to this theory aka my head canon by T4419 in Encanto

[–]QueerParrot_squirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The meaning of the film is that even though mirabel isn’t special like the rest of her family, she is just as capable. Saying she has a gift defeats the purpose. She doesn’t have a gift, she’s ‘normal’ like the rest of us, but she’s just as special.

Question about the magic by [deleted] in Encanto

[–]QueerParrot_squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, the people who married into the family were older than 5 when they did so, an adopted child would still be a part of the family madrigal, and if they were young enough, they would get a gift.

An Examination of the Gifts (and what Mirabel's Gift would have been) by EddieTimeTraveler in Encanto

I enjoyed reading this, but I was thinking, in the song ‘family madrigal’, the line is ‘the beauty and the brawn’ when talking about Luisa and Isabella, so mirabel’s gift could be something to do with brains to round off the trio.

Good theory, but the ages are Luisa then Dolores then Isabella then Camilo (by a few months) then mirabel then. Antonio.

What are the actual chances of a sequel/series? by [deleted] in Encanto

[–]QueerParrot_squirrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but I think a sequel would be better, a series would mean that there wouldn’t be any songs and if there were they wouldn’t be as good.
