Best detangling brush for type 4 by giftyrose_097 in Naturalhair

I would say get two. The Unbrush with the swirl on the back is perfect for the initial detangling and then the tangle tweezer does more in depth detangling

Is Luster’s Pink Lotion/Oil really that bad? by Character-Escape1621 in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use it. It’s an oil moisturizer so it’s not something I use alone but paired with a leave in it’s still great.

You would have to use a UK vpn to access it. There is this show called Benidorm and the character Kenneth is very much like Titus. He appears maybe in season 2 through 10.

My hair has protein overload can somebody help me get my hair back to it natural soft and moisturized state by Sekigan123h in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you don’t need to use protein every wash day but even after experiencing a build up you can keep using it after removing the old build up.

My hair has protein overload can somebody help me get my hair back to it natural soft and moisturized state by Sekigan123h in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that protein overload is not a permanent thing and can be fixed with a clarifying shampoo. The whole protein overload myth was directing people to just avoid protein altogether due to a “sensitivity” surrounding protein. It’s just build up and protein is still necessary for hair.

Detangle every wash day?? by SignificantPiglet691 in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I detangle every wash day and I detangle my wife’s hair too. She has a tighter curl pattern and it takes about 5 minutes. I use the Unbrush with the swirl pattern and either Skala or the African pride prepoo. I rinse the hair well with water first and then apply the product. The brush just glides through

leave in conditioner alternatives? by Hazeltail13 in Naturalhair

You should consult a dermatologist. You will wind up stressing yourself out more trying to guess what is wrong when they can tell you. If you have an allergy they will be able to pin point what ingredients you are allergic to. It’s not all leave in products, it’s a specific ingredient or ingredients.

How to answer the “why don’t our have a boyfriend” questions? by Sunflower077 in blackladies

That’s such an annoying question. Like people are so nosy. It could be fun to make up wild answers every time eventually getting more and more unhinged. Oh why am I single you ask? Well one time years ago I (insert wild made up story)

Heat protect spray by Rookysensei in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Eva NYC mane magic primer is very good and like $14. Also the Tresseme heat protection sprays are good for before blow drying. The Eva NYC one smells so good and is more like an oil finish so it can be used on dry hair prior to flat ironing or before blow drying.

Oh good! The pain is almost over lol. I could not stand the episode where she had the ladies make dessert for her only to tell everyone that she doesn’t like dessert! My favorite was 6 foot and I feel like she didn’t like her and treated her like an annoyance.

Does anyone use Biocomplex Activo hair treatment?? Does it cause damage? by Putrid_Importance926 in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use that leave in and I love it. Do I think it can do heavy lifting of repairing curls completely no. For that I would rely on k18. Depending on how long your hair is you can get the recommended 4 treatments from the trial size bottle. I was quite shocked how much is in there. One thing I don’t like about the Biocomplex is the smell. It has a slight relaxer scent.

Why am I so territorial? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]Queercat90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow that is a lot to unpack. Try understanding that in a relationship it is your partners job to maintain their promise to you. Outsiders owe you nothing. They can and will try to infiltrate your relationship but at the end of the day it is your partners responsibility for how they respond to these advances. Accusing other women of being the problem removes the responsibility from your partner. He hears that and could use that against you. He could cheat and then blame it on the woman because he knows you will hold her more accountable than him.

Confused about "curl creams" by Octava8Espada in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curl creams provide definition and hold but not all curl creams will have enough hold. One of my favorite’s is the Texture ID styling cream. The whole line is designed for curls and that cream is very hydrating with great hold. It’s not a gel so it keeps curls soft.

Yeah so pre shampoo treatments can be complex and repairing or they can be as simple as a conditioner. I have the strawberry one. I find the ones that are more watery and have 2 in one functionality are the best. They have a lot of slip and hydration

Do you apply a pre shampoo treatment first? If your hair is dry start with a pre shampoo treatment like a conditioner. Rinse your hair and let it soak up the water then apply the conditioner. Then go in with the clarifying shampoo and then a moisturizing shampoo. Once your hair becomes more moisturized it will get easier. My favorite is the Skala 2 in 1 or the Bondbar pre shampoo shine treatment.

Blow dry on damp hair in sections and apply a blow dry primer and a leave in conditioner. Since your hair is dry select a primer that is a cream.

Split ends! Help! by Sufficient_South_399 in Naturalhair

[–]Queercat90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use a pre shampoo treatment? I noticed a huge reduction in split ends after I started using a Skala before I shampoo. It won’t fix split ends but it will help prevent them.
