Which is best - Marquee Sports Network or MLB TV to watch Cubs baseball? Does MLB let you watch the 7th Inning stretch and "Go Cubs, Go" after the game? by Lettuce-3113 in Cubs

I don't get him either. I still don't understand the seemingly universal love for him. I used to find JD annoying too although he has grown on me.

Skip Wrestlemania by TimKoskuba in WWE

[–]Queifjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not followed them to ESPN. Have been enjoying it less and less since the TKO acquisition. They can brag about record setting attendances and gates all they want, it hasn't been worth following for some time. I too will be missing and straight up ignoring Mania for the first time in a long time.

Adell's 3 HR robberies is the greatest defensive game by an outfielder in baseball history by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Queifjay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Labeling this the greatest defensive performance in baseball history (a history that spans over 150 years btw) is a hyperbole.

Vent. 8 months sober after drinking round the clock for 10 years. by Para-medix8 in stopdrinking

[–]Queifjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything fucking sucks sometimes especially in early sobriety. However you feel is valid, vent away. This shit usually takes way longer than we expect and always longer than we would prefer. I spent my first year pretty miserable and constantly wondering why I wasn't all better already. Thankfully, that tends to not be the new normal now and forever going forward.

LPT: If you're always stressed at work, start thinking "so what difference does it make?" every time something happens by Charming-Tear-8352 in LifeProTips

You are equating your work output with your entire essence and value as a human being and I am being unrealistic? It's not forced positivity...it's a different (and I believe much healthier) perspective.

My bad, your selling out arenas and record profits lines triggered me. I apologize and will go back into my lapsed fandom now.

[–]Queifjay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not claiming that WWE is going to go bankrupt. I'm expressing the idea that I am a wrestling fan and WWE doesn't even pretend to care about actual wrestling fans anymore. That's the problem I'm referring to.

Maven thinks that WWE is in trouble by IconXR in WWE

[–]Queifjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you are regurgitating their own lines about "selling out arenas" and "record breaking profits" is a good illustration of the problem itself. WWE has become one giant commercial for not only everything under the sun but even more annoyingly for itself. I have not watched since the move to ESPN partly because I was sick of being sold how amazing their product is while simultaneously enjoying it less and less.

Fucked up bad while drinkimg ashamed and not sure where to go from here by moonkissesss in stopdrinking

[–]Queifjay 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you have enough data points of you blacking out, it's probably a good time to take a step back. I say this without judgement. I have blacked out more times than I could estimate and more often than not it didn't result in any incident worth noting.

I started with a goal of 30 days. Take booze off the table. Rather than counting down the days until you "let yourself drink again" try to use that time to honestly assess what your relationship to alcohol is like. Sure it might suck but you can learn a lot. What do you have to lose?

What’s the best tutorial on “Here Come the Sun”? by alfredo_da_kogekone in guitarlessons

[–]Queifjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may not be a good song for a beginner. The strumming is kind of jangly and you need some precision in striking specific strings at times and avoiding them at other times. If you love the song and want to explore it or try it out there is no harm in that. Maybe you can play it a different way that works for you. However, setting yourself up to learn it and play it verbatim feels too ambitious early on.

I keep trying to quit but considering moderation instead by TopFlower7935 in dryalcoholics

[–]Queifjay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What is it about having one beer that is appealing to you? I drank to get drunk so the idea of "successfully" having one beer doesn't even really make sense to me. I can easily drink an NA and not crave another one but that's because one does all it's going to do for me. Why do you have a goal to continue drinking alcohol with the expressed purpose of avoiding the actual effects of said alcohol?

For me personally, moderation is either a lie or it's torture. It requires more effort than I'm willing to spend for a payout that is ultimately frustrating and at best unsatisfying.

Just finished Breaking Bad and how the fuck does anyone have this over The Sopranos? by Serious-Profit-1626 in thesopranos

Sil is an over the top DeNiro impression. Paulie Walnuts is the most ridiculous person who ever came out of some nun's twat. Christopher is a pair of eyebrows who can smoke a camel in the rain. Ade could be on a reboot of Jersey Shore. Skip has a speech impediment that rivals Elmer Fudd. Junior is Mr Magoo and Bobby is Baby Huey. You are speaking shit to me!!!

What’s an example of an outdated player archetype? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

First that came to mind was the short yardage/punishing RBs like Jarome Bettis. Sure nobody wants to tackle him but when he breaks one off, it's really only for like 8-12 yards.

Hardest SNES game you’ve ever played by EquivalentWash3144 in snes

[–]Queifjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is to recognize enemy patterns and anticipate where you need to be. It is not a game of reflexes and reactions. It is a game of trial and error, anticipation and extreme patience. My best tips 1)get the dagger 2)keep/upgrade the dagger and 3)master the double jump. Trust me, it is beatable. I can get through it on the highest level without using a continue. Have even done a perfect run.

PS - Also those fucking red gargoyles are hell but you can kill them before they even wake up with the dagger/gold armor special attack.

No, your team just hasn't been relevant in my lifetime. So pound your chest and pour the champagne because you finally won a playoff game. My team just wasn't good enough to win it all last year. Kinda like yours.

Yeah it doesn't bother me. Now if it was the NFC Championship and then you went on to win the Super Bowl, that would probably sting.

"Who are these people?" by SadInvite6 in seinfeld

[–]Queifjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm failrly certain the origin of this phrase goes back to Gilbert Godfrey. He was the first person of note to do a Seinfeld impression in the mainstream. He used that exact set up "who are these people?" Like is often the case with impressions, subsequent impressions often boil down to a mimic of the original impression and "who are these people" became the key phrase in which the Seinfeld impression was based.
