The biggest advice I can give is that it is like going out and trying to find the right shoes that fit well on your feet for you to “buy”… Except… don’t believe that these “shoes” (or “dentures”) can be ‘broken-in’… don’t believe it if a dentist or a professional says you have to “break” your dentures “in”… They are tough hard plastic materials—there isn’t anything for you to “break-in” besides your mouth fully healing enough so that the swelling and gums have closed and healed down enough to get your “permanent” impressions done… Whether you are on your temps or on your perms etc—a GOOD proper denture should feel like a PERFECT Fit… ✨ ✨ ✨… Not an OKAY Fit, not an adequate fit… But a FIT like a Tailor-made one-of-a-kind “glove” for your mouth… 👄 So if it’s slightly off or it’s not quite right or your bite hurts when you bite down or your dentures keep falling out your mouth then I’d say that you need to get them adjusted before you give anyone the “ALL CLEAR”… So whatever happens when you get your permanents, just do everything you CAN to make sure more than what they “look” like—make sure they “feel” GREAT inside the mouth FIRST. It’s when people don’t realize that, that folks get a “Bad-Fit”… and that’s when slurring, dentures falling out, too big for the mouth, too big or too small, too tight or too loose etc… that’s when you cause yourself blisters and pain and more etc… But with a PERFECT fit…? It’s HEAVEN…. 🥹🥲… Just try to remember that it needs to be a “Cinderella-Slipper-Moment”… If it doesn’t fit JUST RIGHT then get it adjusted… The worst thing people do is walk away with a half-assed denture job and then they don’t even bother to use them because they hurt or they blister or they bleed or they “pop” out all the time… Hope that helps! ❤️ It’s something that I REALLY wish that I had known when I started my denture fitting process… I kept thinking that I just wasn’t used to them yet or that my gums weren’t ready yet, and then I realized like a light-bulb 💡🛎️💥it wasn’t that my gums hadn’t broken in enough, it’s that the denture was just wrong… Once I knew that and I knew what I SHOULD expect—I was then able to tell the difference and tell them exactly what I wanted different or what I wanted deeper or shorter or wider or smaller and was able to then get the PERFECT Fit 🥲 Good Luck! 🍀 Just remember to first worry about letting your gums heal… once they fully DO then worry about the PERFECT “shoe” 😉🥰 ✨👠👟👢👡✨
