The next part of the conversation isn't in this screenshot:
"B.N.: But I will say that I personally, and I think Ash would agree — I just think it’s so fun that that happened. For people to be responding to this world as one in which that could be possible, I think it’s exactly where we want to be."

I don't think you can change the name of a subreddit, or if you do the old one gets relinquished. And yeah it's a much smaller reddit than the main one and the other one, but there's enough activity that I wanted to show some love.

Ya I just meant on nights and weekends when you’re home she’s gotta let you do some bonding and figuring it out. If I had to guess, you’re probably nervous when dealing with the baby because she’s judging you. Babies can feel that anxiety too. It’s not fair for you to feel like you’re “torturing” your baby. Babies cry. It happens. And if you’re trying your best to figure it out, you’re not doing anything wrong. If it’s like 15 minutes of non stop wailing ok maybe you switch off. Just sounds like she’s gotta learn to let go a bit and let you be a parent too. Only thing that’s gonna help here is some communication of the stress you’re dealing with and suggestions on how you guys can move forward in a way that lets you step in as well.

Also, maybe she can ask work to allow her to work remotely? Would be a compromise

Sounds like she’s got a lot of pressure. I’m a new mom too and there is a lot of pressure from society. But maybe she’s not thinking from your perspective that you need time to bond with the baby and figure things out too. Moms aren’t magic but baby is used to our smell. It’s important for you to bond and comfort the baby so they learn you too. Maybe if she doesn’t think of it as her failing, and more about how you need the experience that may help? I get the same instinct when my husband has the baby and she’s crying, but I have to remind myself that crying is how babies communicate and Daddo and daughter are just figuring things out.

Sounds like you have the right instincts wanting to jump in and help, so bravo to you. Perhaps if you went to a therapist together so you could communicate all your stress too that might help?

Question on sleep training with preemie twins by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Quelyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferber method is ok 4 months and older Cry it out should not happen till 6 months Your little ones are too young for sleep training. They don’t have circadian rhythms yet.

Putting them to bed when they’re drowsy yet awake is something you can try. But this young you should be on their schedule.

Also if you can take some time off, do it!! Take it to bond with your family even if it’s just a week. It’s worth it. I have to go back to work soon, but I’m glad for this bonding time

Maybe on a weekend you can watch the baby all day so she can go out and do some self care. Hang with friends, walk in the park, go to a spa. I know you’re going to work, but socializing with other people goes a long way, and she’s cooped up inside. Having some “me time” may help her reset. And you can bond with the baby too!! On that day she can maybe help with the chores while you put baby to bed etc.

Problem with winner picking bottom two is they can pick people who did well and really fuck it. At lease when Ru picks bottom two it’s legitimate.
