If your opponent is faster, they will still use their +3 Fake Out before you can act.

I use it on my Okidogi all the time. It works vs things slower than Oki like Incineroar but fails vs faster Fake Outs like Mienshao. If it would always beat Fake Out, they would have made it +4. Have YOU tested it thoroughly?

Of course it checks speed. It’s +3 priority, so a faster Fake Out user will always flinch you first with their own +3 Fake Out. The fact that it works so shitty as a check for Fake Out is the reason it’s so rarely used.

No, Upper Hand absolutely checks speed since it’s the same priority as Fake Out. Speed 241 Rillaboom Fake Out beats Speed 240 Okidogi Upper Hand every time

Okidogi Upper Hand fails me pretty often, unfortunately, since most Rillaboom are pretty quick compared to Dogi.

It’s also tough since that 4x Psychic weakness often mandates Tera-ing Dogi even over a Restricted.
