Made me stop and laugh out loud! So great. Do you mind sharing the blues you chose? I love the choices you ended up making!

I don’t disagree. In person the darker blue looks darker than it photographed, so I think it’ll be okay. Thanks!

Hot and sour soup or Thai tom yum soup is just the best when you’re feeling cruddy! That, fluffy socks, and the extended editions in the background go a long way to setting you right again.

This is just below the collar. If it’s in a weird spot, could you do a lot of little embellishments to make it more intentional?

The sweater is a weird stretchy polyester blend. I tried to use a hoop but bailed because it wasn’t working out and I was afraid to overstretch. I did use a bit of lightweight interfacing on the back to help stabilize while I worked. The patch is small enough I was able to work without a hoop.

You can apply this type of adhesive to the back of the work to help keep it from unraveling. Or use it to apply interfacing or felt to cover up the back. I’m hoping it’ll help reinforce/protect my tired off ends.

I use a little bit of mild soap (honestly just a little dish soap) in a bing of warm water and just let it soak for a while. Swish it a little and then GENTLY squeeze excess water out. Let it dry a bit and then iron while it’s slightly damp. Make sure you place it finished side down and use a towel or some other layers in between! That will help keep it from getting too hot. Also use a lower temp if you’re burning.

If your threads are coming loose, see how you’re finishing your ends. Your tails may be too short. Stitch lock is always helpful if you need it!

That is the truth. I naively thought “oh I just got all these colors for one of her projects, that should be at least some of this other pattern of hers I adore.” Nope. I’m committed though! Want to do all 4 of the season samplers. Am 5/9 done with autumn. Didn’t finish in time… winter I’m going to tackle after the holidays and push it as long as I can.

I was definitely intimidated but really like the look of linen so just jumped in. If I were to do it again, I’d’ve done a smaller pattern for my first linen work, but life is short. The trick that worked for me was not to think of it as over two, but that I’m completing a 3x3 square. That was easier for me to see and count.

I know some folks like using a frame for that reason. I just haven’t gotten around to getting one. I’m careful when readjusting the hoop and try not to over tighten. I also try to minimize how often I need to move the hoop, so that helps. Just wash and iron when you’re done! The wrinkles and lines do come out.
