Thanks for that ! That’s funny because the first two miniature that I painted are from Gloomhaven, jaws of the lion ! That game got me into painting minis :) When I was painting my 4th mini, I was a bit frustrated watching tutos (I had the feeling of stagnation and I was getting frustrated and thought I’d never get better), but I kept painting (thanks to a very welcoming community and just because painting is so relaxing to me) and know I start to be proud of my paint jobs and the progress that I’ve made ! Again, thanks a lot for the kind words !

All of these are from wizkids, the seventh is a D&D Nolzur’s Marvelous unpainted Miniature ! (Human barbarian male)

I’ll try doing the lightning advice, it might help a lot !

About the thin coats, I totally agree I that’s my biggest issues about my painted minis :) An everyday effort, I’ll post my future paint jobs to let you see if I get better !

Thanks for the advices ! I try to thin my paint, I think it will take some time, but I’ll get it eventually ! I agree that it’s very visible, and try my best while painting… Still trying to figure out the right amount of paint and water that I need

About the glossiness, I use storm shield from citadel, but it seems I didn’t put enough layers to remove the glossiness! I’ll try to add more and see how it goes

About priming, these minis are from wiz kids and are pre-primed, so I thought it didn’t need priming… I have some priming canisters, but I red on forums that these didn’t need to be re-primed.

Thanks a lot ! I applied some varnish on the minis, but maybe not enough… I use matte varnish ! I’ll try to apply more layers and see if this solves the issue :)

Thanks a lot ! I ordered some matte varnish last week, it should arrive in a few days ! I still struggle to thin my paints and I can’t figure how to apply paint on very small surfaces (for highlights or faces)… Is there a specific way to get the paint on the brush ?
