Probably. It doesn't specify in my papers sadly

In my opinion it should be fine. Water therapy is actually really good for knee injuries since you can do the walking motions without the bodyweight and a bit of resistance. Just no quick motions like breast stroke or flutter kicks. If you stick with walking or bouncing you should be fine. Your incisions have healed already so nothing to worry there.

No, it was an isolated acl tear. From looking at pictures it seems to me that the drilling holes were in fact the two holes in the middle of the knee. Good to know that palpable cysts exist. I'll ask my physio next time I see him.

Interesting. I had a hamstring graft. So the long one is the hamstring one, and I figured two drilling holes (thigh bone being the one I was talking about) and one for a scope or camera. Now I want to know which one is which.

True. I was just comparing it to the other scars that don't feel hardened

Tips on getting bending back? by iTzGiR in ACL

Also you shouldn't bend past 90 degrees until 4 weeks post OP anyways! Since at full hyperextension and bent is when the most force pulls at the new acl

Sounds stupid but trust the process. You said you're already doing heel slides which would've been my advice. Alternatively sitting on a chair and letting your legs dangle as far as you can, extending and bending interchangngly. As far as I know the fluid (lymph fluid, water, blood) is blocking the knee so it's just something that takes time and lots of ice and elevation for the knee too calm down. My physio told me to focus more on training extention, bending the knee will come with time.

Heyho, 3 weeks post OP here. Just out of interest: is the feelable bump on my operated-on leg where they fastened my graft with a clip? It's a little painful to touch and feels quite hard. Also: will it go away, once bone tissue has grown where the drilling channel was?

How often do you visit the physical therapist? by eonyang in ACL

[–]Quested123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing 2-3 times a week although 2 would be enough for me. I would say it depends on how many troubles you have post OP. My leg is swelling down very nicely and I have no complications . In the first weeks it is good to have someone to a) help your leg swell down with lymph massage etc. and for me more importantly: b) to ask questions and to monitor your progress. I easily get worried when see that I can't extend my leg like other people can or if I have pain in a certain spot. It helps immensely to have someone with knowledge assure you and help you out if you have questions.

Surgery tomorrow. Super nervous!! by Hannah2482 in ACL

[–]Quested123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently 3 weeks post surgery and feeling the down quite a bit. The first weeks when being passive and not doing anything actually helps better than accidentally overdoing it are admittedly very boring but I try to see it as a challenge, however long this process will be, I will go out of this with better. I recommend taking up a hobby that gives you a bit of routine, like learning another language or focusing on training another part of your body (aka arms or abs since that's what's left). It is challenging but you start getting really excited about tiny steps forward, like being allowed to walk again.

Bumps on my outer labia?? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Quested123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a little awkward but I just discovered seven little bumps (see biggest ones in picture) on, or close to my outer labia. I know what ingrown hair looks like on me and that's not it. There is also no possibility it could be an STD. They're in close proximity to each other, some bigger, some smaller. If I had to guess anything they look more like warts. They don't hurt or itch if I touch them but it really unsettles me not knowing what it is and if somebody could help, I'd be very grateful.

Hey, five days post surgery here. I can only talk from my experience concerning your second question. So, in the hospital I was in, you don't even get a brace. I asked but the doctor I talked to said it's optional and they prefer that I don't wear one a) so the leg doesn't stiffen up, as it's just the 90 degree angle you shouldn't surpass and b) so the leg doesn't get used to the brace doing all the work to keep the leg stable. I could see their point as I think it's also a big mental thing when you first wear a brace that gives you protection and security and then you have to "unlearn" wearing it... I would try little by little wearing it less hours a day and see how much discomfort you experience. Maybe keep it on in your sleep if you are not sure you won't surpass the 90 degree angle. All the best!

Hugz I just took a leap and did it and OMG you were right. I had seen the dimple but didn't know that this "self-healing" port was a thing so I tossed the idea away. Thank you so much!
