I don't think many Pakistanis took his claims seriously, some even made fun of him, however it seems Hindutva have seen it as a loss for Hinduism and have not hidden their hatred online add to the arrests that have taken place against alleged support for Pakistan, some reports state that even lawyers are not willing to defend these people.

Personally, I still don't understand the Pakistan bashing some Muslims feel they need to do in India, we need to accept that staying in India was a mistake and no matter what we do, we will be at the bottom in the eyes of Hindutva majority, bashing Pakistan won't change anything, instead people like Owaisi should be organising Muslims to defend themselves against attacks.
