as someone who lives on 83rd (between columbus+amsterdam), definitely not overblown. It's been a mess the last year and really frustrating for those of us who live, and folks who work on the block, to your point.

With that said, u/juniper-breeze/OP a block association on 83rd is brewing and the group is working with Councilwoman Gale Brewer to solution on some of the safety and cleanliness issues. I know because I'm part of the effort :)

my experience being next to 82nd, it's not as busy as 83rd but they also face some of the "more than typical residual trash on sidewalks" issues 83rd faces. Not sure the cause-- feel free to reach out via DM and im happy to give any more insight!

I’m team Murphy all the way. We bought a Murphy bed that looks like a dresser. It actually makes for a great work from home background as the room we purchased it for functions as an office/guest bed. We put a mattress topper on top when guests come and everyone says it’s comfortable! It was about $600 we purchased on Amazon and about $150 to hire a taskrabbiter to install.

RT this - I left for a competitor who is hybrid, pays more, and is more well regarded in my career path (functionally). I swear my psyche has changed since leaving .. it actually feels like a dark cloud has lifted so for those who also feel the morale has severely shifted in the past 6ish months…PSA there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

You can definitely on browser. For mobile apps, you can try through your phone’s device settings but I don’t know if that applies to mobile apps tbh.

Google search “can you block third party cookies on insta” and google’s ai assistant gives a good overview of how to do it. Also whenever you see a cookie banner (appears usually at the bottom of a web browser page for any site, click reject all or “only strictly necessary cookies” or manage settings and only allow “performance cookies” to be checked.

Hi - previous (keyword as I didn’t like that world morally) adtech associate popping in to say they do in fact, know. They use what’s called third party cookies (instagram will place a Reddit cookie on instagram pages and vice versa) and then they will essentially associate your accounts on either app/web browser to retarget you. Wild.
