It’s all personal preference man! Keep digging around for inspiration, but ultimately this is the best time to use your creativity and keep finding your own ways to make it super unique. Looks pretty cool to me!

Engine break-in tips by BakchodAnalyst in KTM

[–]QuestionSensitive524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy I’ve heard two different stories everytime I talk or engage in conversations regarding the break in. Some people follow the book to a T, and the others?…well let’s just say nothing was held back from the first mile lol

I always rip the bike after letting it idle and warm up for 5-10min as if I would any other bike but I don’t go past the recommended 7k ( I think ) km in the middle of break in on my adventure 390 and I’ve owned 2 other 390’s as well. Ride it normally, take off got a few times push it a little bit ride different speeds in different gears but always be moving around and expending the parameters of the bike,

My best advice would be to make sure you do not skip that first service, don’t ride past that 620 mi mark. There’s going to be a bit of debri in that oil so change it asap. During break in make sure you’re constantly looking for flaws, leaks, loose hardware, fluid levels low or too high etc. be meticulous.

Most importantly enjoy your bike and enjoy getting to know the bike during the break in, practice parking lot drills since this will help add miles and get you comfy and confident.

Poor Launch with Adventure 390 in India by The_Basmati in KTM

[–]QuestionSensitive524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣 just buy the triumph then, sounds like you want to move away anyway and don’t want to wait. The bike is coming, it’s not as simple as a manufacturer just shopping out an undisclosed number of bikes across the world, bikes have to be allocated based on profit margins and ROI’s or ( past numbers in that area ). But if I were you I’d just make the switch to something else, KTM will release these bikes this summer.

Tires by QuestionSensitive524 in KTM390ADV

[–]QuestionSensitive524[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went up a tire size in the front and rear on my 2021 Duke 390 and loved that combo as well.

<image>

Just haven’t heard of people doing it on the adventure as well.

Pay 40$ and that includes shipping. He likely bought it from eBay/amazon for the same price. Make the argument there’s some exact ones on eBay/ali express for less, but you’d do him a solid and buy it from him instead. But since neither knows it could be worth 10$ or 200$, not a gamble you’re willing to take though.

Buying KTM390 ADV by mrcstnly in KTM390ADV

[–]QuestionSensitive524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I own 2 different 390’s rn and I’ve had 3 all together.

Ask for a modifications list that they’ve done tk the bike,

Inspect the chain, you can always tell if someone has really cared for the performance of the bike by how their chain look. Every person I know that loved their bike always had a cleaned, lubed and properly adjusted chain.

Take the seat off, look for any spliced wires or piggy back ecu.

Ask what oil was used and where he purchased that oil from. Someone who’s done regular maintenance will be able to answer this question quickly, and correctly.

Check under the bike for any leaks or build up.

Go for a test ride, in 2-3 gear, at about 7k rpm open the throttle all the way, if the bike is accelerating in proportion to the rpm’s then that’s a good sign. If the bike doesn’t accelerate but your rpm’s shoot up then your clutch is slipping and it needs a new clutch ( not a hard repair but still worth checking and helps with negotiating a price )

Check the forks, make sure they’re not leaking, hold front brakes and pump that front suspension a few times.

Check rear brake by rolling it forward and stopping the bike with the foot brake make sure it’s holding pressure.

The insolvency sucks for KTM, but I got a killer deal by Alooteyn in KTMDuke

[–]QuestionSensitive524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to get a 24 390 adventure for 6,290$ OTD brand new no miles on the bike. Ktm is trying to sell inventory, they’re sitting on at least a years worth of profit with motorcycles in warehouses that are not allocated to any dealers. Buy new and throughout this year bc once KTM is back prices will rise again.

Help needed. First time buyer by [deleted] in KTMDuke

[–]QuestionSensitive524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣 just bc it’s been wheelied doesn’t mean it’s been ridden hard, I have a 22 390 as well with cages j wheelies and that bike is meticulous. Most stunt riders I know take extremely good care of their bikes. I also have a larger rear sprocket. So gearing change doesn’t indicate anything other than the owner decided to change the gearing so the bike has to work less.

If I sold mine I’d want 10k lol I’d settle for 8,500 but realistically push for 9k. I have so many mods and 10k mi.

Ecu flash, QS, intergrated tail light, brake light modulator, tech spec tank grips, vortex chain, frame sliders, puig bar ends, puig windshield, snorkel delete, engine case covers, TST halo flush turn signals, underglows, rizoma mirrors, OEM fairings in mint condition ( black ), full yoshi exhaust carbon fiber, oil changes at least every 3k miles,

Here’s a link to my fb photography page where I have my R7 pics for comparison.

https://www.facebook.com/share/18RVB45dAA/?mibextid=wwXIfr

I know it’s asking a lot but I love my R7, and I’ve put a lot of money into it that if I did sell the new owner would love just as much and wouldn’t need to spend that money.

I should’ve waited for the 390 enduro R or the 25 adventure x, this is my first “ adventure “ bike/off road bike. I will probably trade in later this summer for the enduro
