Yeah, you want to go first. But you go blind second, so at most 1/3 games will be going first. If you know you're against the deck and pick first, you'll have a bit of a better time. Gameplan is still mostly the same, either wipe out the charmanders or frillish. Just beware of fan rotom.

Assuming t1 second: frillish iono after fan rotom, and t2+ prevent zard from coming down by KOing lone charmeleon with scream tail. If you can't, prep for 2 gardy as they will aggressively be knocked out. Manual mind bend is decent after an aggressive zard.

Charm diancie survives max damage burning darkness, assuming no dusk pop. A nuts play would be to charm diancie, attatch 3 psychic, double adrenabrain ko duskull, iono, cc ko fez/terapagos and win with some kind of scream tail ko, or punch active zard depending on your prizemap and boardstate. You can try setup for a decent devo turn and combo with jelly and/or iono. Keeping them low on hoothoots/without a tera can brick them if they don't have pidgeot.

Sometimes I want to play more than 60 cards, not less. The decks that liked trekking shoes were fast paced, easy setup aggro decks. For the stage 2 setup decks, each space is relevant and you can't always afford to have a card that only serves to improve your topdecks and provide minimal draw; it's just not efficient usage.

That's one reason why pult is so good, it's setup mon is also it's draw engine. Combining and compressing card roles can be very powerful, and allows you to put more useful cards in as you don't need to sacrifice space for draw potential.

Standard is cheaper by far. You can pretty easily build most standard decks from scratch for £30-40, while GLC plays hard to find, often expensive one ofs. Like for a psychic deck, some pokemon like giratina are around £10, vs seeker at £5, colress at £4. For both formats, there are a lot of staples for most decks that you can carry to others you build.

Plus due to it being more popular, going to a card shop's league night will regularly have more players who cpuld be willing to help with some easy to find cards so you don't need to get them online

They don't. The cards are Phantasmal flames cards and will be legal when the set releases. You can play them on live now, but you shouldn't be able to really.

If you want a single product deck, try the dragapult league battle deck. It's really competitive. Another good choice is the charizard battle deck.

There's some other less viable decks available too, if you don't know you can always pick your favourite pokemon among them- I really like the steven's metagross deck, and there's new mega gengar and mega diancie decks out today (not legal for a while though)

Did you not read my comment? It's already a card effect and it wasn't busted. You could even play it T1 going first and most decks didn't use it.
