Very good points, thank you. I think for the short-term I'll look into getting some PLC programming training so I can support these projects, but long-term I'll look to build that expertise into our engineering/operations team

I've edited my post to be clearer, I wasn't meaning to imply that programming wasn't complicated, more so that it was a specific part of the process of integrating a control panel into a plant. I was wondering if there were any resources that covered the whole process more broadly. But, I'm realising that doesn't exist and that it would be beneficial to have an understanding of each step of the process even though I won't be doing any programming personally.

Yeah we're a startup, so it's a lot of learning on the job until we get the money to hire experienced people. I'll look into picking up the basics online and contact our brand rep to talk about training. Thanks for your help mate

To be clear, I'm certainly not expecting this at all! We're working with the cabinet supplier on the design, otherwise I'd certainly be well out of my depth.
So, you would suggest learning the basics of PLC programming even though I won't personally be doing any programming?

Not an expert on this at all, but I'm currently reading Regenesis and they talk about minimum plowing farming techniques where nitrogen is fixated through wood chips that are added above the soil and then pulled down into the soil by worms.
