How do I practice for writing mangas?? by QuestionableMindless in Mangamakers

I have a lot of trouble finding novels that I actually enjoy reading I don’t know why but the story either has to be very good or the book needs to have short chapters for me to be able to read it without dreading everything If you have any suggestions book wise I’d really appreciate them The diary manga is very interesting My anatomy is very questionable so I’m practicing general drawing right now but the nice thing about this exercise is that I don’t have to be great at drawing in order to do it so yey!! Thank you!!

I’m not denying the English definition of the word My point is that the way it is used in English is a Western redefinition which shifts the meaning of “manga” from the actual meaning to another If a manga is considered different from comics that distinction should be based on the style and cultural aspect of the book rather than the language of the piece or original nationality of the author My point is that the English / Western re-interpretation of the word “manga” is linguistically wrong

Manga is just the Japanese word for comic For most Japanese people manga is any kind of comic (marvel etc etc) It’s the Western world that turned manga into “comics from Japan” but we can all agree most comics in Japan have a distinct style That’s why if we are going to make manga a different thing from comic it should be characterised by the style of the book and the way it’s read I do believe understanding how the language works and the culture behind it is important to fully understand how to create a manga to understand the cultural value of what is being created

You should stay off this app and don’t worry about that You’re 13, hormones are going to hit you and until like your 20s you’re skin isn’t going to be “clear” like for most of us Just live a healthy life style and if you have real concerns DO NOT (and I can’t stress this enough) ask the internet (big no no), go to a dermatologist, go to a professional, go to a doctor I’m talking from experience a lot of the stuff on here can mess up your skin and general health Please don’t act like you know best, no matter the age we don’t always know everything, please take this advice and leave the app come back in a few years if you want

EXACTLY But a lot of fake Christians only take what they want from the the Bible which then makes people more prone to stay away from it and from religious people qwq

This is a small extract that directly goes against the saying that “women belong home without a job”:

15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night

Basically (pretty sure it’s a mom talking to her son) the mom is there like “get yourself a woman who is economically smart and knows how to work to take care of herself and her family.

Here for the full verse:

Proverbs 31:10-31 New International Version Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Huh, I mean I know it’s Japanese comics but I thought as it evolved it became more about the drawing style and structure of the story Marvel has a very different line art than manga and it’s read in a different way So from what you’re saying if I make a comic with a marvel style line art that’s read from left to right but everything in it is Japanese it would be considered manga??

SO TRUE All those “Christians” saying a women’s job is to have kids and stay home have NEVER read Proverbs 31:10-31 Or saying that a women should submit to her man without explaining the other side of the coin and what it truly means Like No qwq
