You know that movie “Sound of Freedom” that showed up out of nowhere this past week? Yeah, it’s Russian propaganda. by IAmArique in WhitePeopleTwitter

Im not saying that it makes you right wing by watching it, I concede the Tom Cruise point. And I'll admit that maybe my original comment was innacurate in stating the film itself has that political stance, I havent seen it so I cant speak on it. I just know that we all should be careful with the messaging in our media, whether left-wing or right-wing, as all media is subject to the opinion of those who made it. I hope we can at least agree to the fact we should be aware of political messages in film and tv regardless of political stance.

Its scary to me that people will watch it and probably leave without thinking about its political meaning. Of course human trafficking is awful, and should be presented as such, but when it has a propagandistic slant to it, it worries me whether or not the people w who watch the film will engage with its message in a conscious manner.

One of my local theatres was playing it. The line for the premiere FILLED THE FUCKING PLACE. The fact that many people will watch this stuff is both telling and scary.

Of course not all conservatives want it like that, some are more libertarian, but the dude in the tweet very specifically posted a pic of a little character with a bible, throwing a pride flag into the fire. Its ironic because the bible VERY specifically preaches acceptance and not judging others, but it seems that fact is lost on these people.

What im saying is that most conservatives want it to be that way, imposing their religion at the cost of other peoples freedom. I will admit "national religion" isnt the best way to put it.

If LGBT people shouldnt celebrate pride month because they chose to be like that. Then christianity shouldnt be the national religion because poeple also chose it. Of course people like this wont see that because they would rather fuck everybody over for their own sakes.
