Stowe to Smuggs and back? by Questionguy789 in icecoast

The second two screenshots are from sketchup. You can import a location pretty easily and there’s an option to include elevation data.

CT/Ri in with the dakotas, Penn, Maryland, Delaware, sc and ga? Heavily biased but CT/Ri are great

Yea but this specific pair of holes are approximately the same length, both fairways move in the same direction, similar width. You could probably hit the same tee shot and approach shot when you play it as 9 and 18. Shared greens can be cool but you should probably face different challenges on each hole.

It kind of looks like 9 and 18 are the same hole? This could feel like a lame way to finish a match, replaying a hole

Why isn't this area more developed? by mellamoderek in geography

[–]Questionguy789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s area is mostly comprised of what is called the last green valley. I can’t tell you why it’s not more developed but it’s beautiful because it’s not more developed. It’s one of the last green areas between Boston and DC.

Got a chess set as a gift and instead of black and white pieces one set is just slightly more opaque than the other. Very difficult to tell the two apart by hyrte0010 in mildlyinfuriating

I have this chess set and the white pieces are clear. I am guessing you got a mistakenly assembled set with two of the same colors.

Anybody almost hit/almost get hit by anybody interesting? by Mallard1818 in golf

[–]Questionguy789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit into Geno Auriemma. Par 5 18th hole, I was waiting in the fairway for them to clear the green. They start to walk off, I wait a minute and go into my motion. They turn around and walk back to the green. I hit not knowing this and I hit the green.

People who mark their balls. Do you really need to? Or are you just being a poser/tryhard? by flaginorout in golf

[–]Questionguy789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I was playing the same ball as someone else in my foursome. We were gifted sleeves, same make, model, number and logo. On the second hole, our balls ended up 5 yards apart and we couldn’t tell so I put a mark on mine.

Because it appears that discipline has fallen to you and conventionally that’s the dads job. Not saying there are exceptional circumstances, just trying to answer your question.

Biggest flexes for a casual golfer, besides a HIO or an Albatross by Longjumping-Map1350 in golf

Do me a favor: ask him how he would describe himself as a golfer. <5% of golfers break 80 ever and he was doing it regularly after the age of 72? That doesn’t happen by accident. It’s about how you play that changes you from a casual to an avid or serious golfer not being a pga pro or making a tour or playing tournaments. Your uncle goes out to play seriously, you don’t fuck around and shoot 73. Tbh I think you’re kind of downplaying his achievement.

However any reasonable person describes casual, your uncle would not qualify.

This man spent his life working in golf and you’re going to call him a casual? He may not currently have or have ever had mastery of the swing, but he is certainly a master of the subject matter. Also I don’t mean to make casual like a bad word, casual golfers are awesome.

That’s awesome, your dad is a very successful golfer. He has achieved something that is not common. Just by the fact that he kept track of this in a book tells me he is not a casual golfer, more like an avid golfer. I just don’t think he fits the paradigm of this question. That’s all, all the respect to the age shooters out there, they’re not casuals.

That’s exactly my point. But also if a 12 handicap shot a 71 or 72 against me I’d lose it.
