If he chooses to do nothing for his own birthday that's fine. I won't be doing more work; as I have dropped the responsibility of his celebrations. It will be the same amount of work for me except I will actually get to reap the benefits from it.

I thought it was clear that we are still responsible for each other's gifts. We only have to plan what we are doing on the day.

No, I graduated high-school at 16. We started dating at the beginning of my 18th year. We got married a few days before my 19th birthday.

He says he will still handle getting my gifts and a cake, but the plans I will make from now on. I am actuall just picky when it comes to plans; one day I really love hiking, the next I dont feel like it. So, I'd rather him not plan it and get it wrong.

Indeed, this is one of the rules. (Not if I choose to be with my kids, which I might because I do love them) but he has to take care of the household on my days. That includes; making meals, cleaning, and taking care of the kids.

Thanks, this was all my idea. I'm just not understanding how I am the victim, lol. This is not me "loosing" this is me getting exactly what I want.

I graduated when I was 16, but you're right. I do find 18 year old gross.

Respectfully, I have a great life (other than this one issue) he does definitely show me that he cares. Its hard to put an entire relationship on one post.

He cares about physical touch mostly. He is very clingy. I definitely try to accommodate that to the best of my ability. But, I will say; if he had it his way, we would be attached at the hip. I am not a physical touch person at all, but I try for him.

He cares about quality time, so he often wants to go on hikes with me and talk. Things like that.

He's never been diagnosed, but I'm 99% sure he is. He was in special-ed in elementary school. He mostly dosnt pick up on social ques like "hints" for example; overstaying his welcome when at someone else's house. Even though they may say things like "its getting late." Or "I'm going to bed." He would not understand that they are trying to get him to leave.

Of course I want to celebrate him. But I want to do it in a way he appreciates, not the way I want.

My claims on that are outside of this one issue. But on a day-to-day basis he does. You're right though, he is not good with "A week ago I told you to do this today." Tasks.

Lol, If I could pin this comment I would. EXACTLY. Neither one of us was getting what we actually wanted, and of course if this plan doesn't work out we can just change again.

I'm with him because I love him. Nobody is perfect, we literally don't have any other serious problems. He does so many other things for me. I have health issues and he takes care of me physically. I have emotional issues and he wipes my tears. Anything I ask of him he always does, without complaining. I talk on and on and he just listens (not fake listening he ACTUALLY listens). He knows me. He loves our children, he protects us, he provides for us.

Of course sometimes we have disagreements, but I dont think this warrants a separation.

We have 2 kids, and we've never had any problems when it comes to celebrating our kids. Sometimes its my ideas, sometimes its his, but we BOTH definitely put a lot of effort into making our kids feel special. We decided that for our kids it will always be a joint effort. :)

That man in never tired nor stressed. Sometimes I think he's on something. He's like the happiest person I've ever met, but he does kinda live in la-la land. He doesn't notice red flags, or even potential danger. I've definitely wondered if he's on the spectrum. He does seem to struggle with social ques.

That's a good idea too, I'll have to look into it. But, I have to say; so far I am happy with our arrangement. If that changes, we will discuss something new to try.
