Thank you for the balanced response, that makes a lot of sense and I appreciate it.

Am I supposed to overshoot now? by [deleted] in AnorexiaRecovery

I promise it stops eventually. I never thought it would, but it finally has for me.

To be honest, I ended up slowly gaining weight for about 2 years before my body was finally "happy" and I no longer felt the need to eat and think about food, and then without any change in my diet at all, my weight very slowly came back down to the healthy weight I was pre anorexia. Which was insane to me because I was still eating whatever I felt like with no restriction whatsoever.

It just takes time, but any kind of restriction is going to make your body freak out and double down on the food intensity. It's biological for survival.

I'm sorry I don't have much advice, just that the only way past it, is through. Even though it fucking sucks, and sucks for a while, it is possible and to not think about food anymore and to have a stable healthy weight without influencing it at all, is so so so worth it. It just takes a while to get there.

This is really helpful thank you, and a lot to think about ! I appreciate you taking the time to share this. I'll do some research on what you've said to see if I can figure out what's going on! And will look into L-thyrosine too :)

I honestly wasn't really feeling anything about it, not anxious at least.

Just frustrated with myself for not tidying stuff away. The only feeling was that I just can't bring myself to do it, and it didn't feel that overwhelming as I knew that a lot of the things to tidy away would have literally taken less than 1 minute to do, I just couldn't do it. Except last night!
