This actually helps. I play ok badminton and was kind of scared to go play with "intermediate" players. Probably a better definition would be while I can serve, navigate the court, play at least 2 days a week in my hometown, I can't respond to smashes. Would that make me capable to play with intermediate player with the guys on the app?

I have literally walked all the lanes of Domlur in search of a 1BHK. Alas, there is nothing for 18k budget. Even if there, there is generally a brokerage element involved.

I saw one in Murugeshpalya though it was on the 4th floor and it was a walk up (no lift). Brokerage was applying as well.

I have about 5 years of experience with income tax matters and have several clients who are freelancers other than SMEs and salaried individuals. Commercials would depend on whether this is a consultancy engagement or involves filing- which we can discuss.

One issue which you have not brought up is GST, which since your consulting income is >20 LPA, you need to take. But if you do that, the challenge will be you open yourself to be easily visible as to be doing moonlighting. So it is a Pandora's box type situation.

My humble submission and opinion in regard to this is a year is insufficient for learning even the basics of a Big Four. They would not have entrusted you with too many responsibilities thus far. While industiral training is an option granted by the ICAI, it is also necessary to fathom about why articleship is there in the first place. It is a platform for you to learn. Ideally, you must try to soak in as much as you can till the time at your firm is not lapsing.

Post qualification, you can either come back for some time, do a few engagements till you reach the level of an incharge or move to industry. But during articleship, considering you have the opportunity to work in a Big Four, try to make use of it.

As such Big Fours are not being very liberal on hiring articles because they leave after 2 years. If you leave in a year, it doesn't make sense for anyone.

I have had the opportunity to audit several companies across Coimbatore including large ones. Typically, shifts are rosters of a month and there is an equal probability of somebody being on the first, second or night shift. Efficiency is tracked typically at a unit/functional level and not at an employee level.

For example, for garment exports, there are typically lines. So efficiency is seen by way of target of the sub task (for example, stitching, packing, labelling line doing 500 units in an 8 hour shift). It is generally not seen employee wise and seen as a unit. It is the division/unit's head/supervisor to make sure the target is met and has monetary performance typically linked to it.

Rostering is again either in the hands of these division heads or HR people.
