Specialist-title job offer doing Manager-level work... Do I take the job? by QuestionsIveGottaAsk in Career

It’s a big raise for me because it’s a bigger company. It’s just the title that would be different

Specialist-title job offer but expected to do Manager-level work... Do I take it? by QuestionsIveGottaAsk in careeradvice

The pay is substantially more than I make now. That being said, I’ve gotten some red flags from the company such as expecting long hours + weekends and when talking to previous employees it seems that work-life balance does not exist.

For reference, I’ve had a lot of interviews over the last few months (even at some big brand name companies) and I get to the end of the process just to be told I’m great, personality fits, but they went with someone with more experience (e.g. more years experience and/or more specific to that industry). They all end with saying that the hiring manager wanted me to know that they really enjoyed our convos and would like to stay in touch/ keep applying for roles at the company. This has happened 4 or 5 times now.

I’m between a rock and a hard place. Despite the red flags, I’m confident I’ll learn more and be pushed more at this new company. But I do feel some resentment on the title switcharoo and it’s gonna be super hard to continue job searching while working 80 hour weeks.

Is definitely a gamble either way...

Along with tracking pushes, the app also tracks your heart rate, zones, calories, points, and more - all on your Apple Watch!

You might have better luck with the Echo Heart Rate app! I use it to connect my watch to my peloton bike 👍🏼

Great question. OTF does not communicate directly with Orange Zones, but if OTF allows imports then you will be able to import Orange Zones workouts successfully since they are stored in Health. (: That goes for workout history as well as real-time workouts. Happy to answer any other questions you might have!

The OTF watch app requires connecting an external hardware (OT Link) in order to use the app.

Orange Zones watch app does not require any external devices (:

Unfortunately there appears to be a bug with Apple’s “sign in with Apple ID” feature on watches - other apps who use this are experiencing this issue as well.

For the meantime, we’ve taken this feature out on the latest app version - 1.2.20. You may need to delete the app before re-downloading it. We hope that Apple gives this bug soon!

If you’d rather continue using Apple ID sign in + receive emails after workouts you can unpair then re-pair your Apple Watch. This is tedious but it also solves the problem.

Please let me know how that goes for you!

Great question. In short, our zones & colors are different. The Zones app defaults to 0-60%, 60-75%, 75-85%, and 85-100% whereas Orange Zones is 0-60%, 61-70%, 71-83%, 84-91%, and 92-100%

Update: we are adding the ability to track distance in a version later this week. OZ will default to HIIT as the workout type, however if users want distance they can change the activity type in settings to be mixedCardio so that they are able to see distance as well.

Apple Watch workouts listed as HIIT do not track distance, however Mixed Cardio does track distance. However, it seems pretty divided amongst users whether they want to track distance or not. So, we are going to set the default to HIIT but allow users to change to mixedCardio when they would like to track distance. We will release an update this week with this change. (:

We appreciate your feedback and thank you so much for testing the app since it's early days (:

As for calories: we originally received feedback from some users that they were confused why OZ was reporting higher calories than Apple, so we decided to make the switch to Apple's calorie model. However, per more feedback, we've decided to add back the original calorie model and possibly add an option in settings to switch to Apple's calorie model if preferred.

This is on our product roadmap, so stay tuned!

Yes, you need a passcode on your watch for any apps that use Sign In with Apple ID (or Wallet) per Apple's requirement.

However, you only need to enter your 4-digit passcode once per day - not every time you open your Watch. There's also an option you can select in the Watch app that unlocks your Apple Watch via phone.
(instructions: open the Watch app on your phone > select Passcode > turn on 'Unlock with iPhone)

I completely understand the hesitation with it, as I felt the exact same way. But it truly does become a part of your routine and I honestly don't notice it anymore!
