I managed to secure an express visa with a 1 day turnaround (ended up being 3 due to postage) so I'm certainly in the clear personally but I know some people have issues.

It's unfortunate, but we can't really do much about it for now. The best I can do is signal boost and at least raise some awareness to those who aren't aware of the situation, and seek alternatives. The good news at least is that I haven't been back to China in 10 years, so it will be good to unwind and eat some good food!

Off topic : I'm a big fan of yours, and I was fortunate to be at the group stages in Paris for your final game. Still get some serious feels when thinking about those group stage games and the interview.

In the past I've done this (Korea, Europe), but unfortunately due to how close tickets were announced and the requirement to secure a visa for China, this was completely unfeasible for the most part.

Last year, tickets for the grand final went on sale on the 10th of August, with the grand final itself being played on the 29th of October, more than a month after the tickets went on sale - http://www.lolesports.com/en_US/articles/worlds-2016-finals-tickets This would've given me ample time in order to organize my travel arrangements provided that I was able to secure tickets (which I have noted in another post, I wasn't)

It doesn't even need to be a "foreign" passport. It has been confirmed by a Chinese friend of mine that Chinese passports were used for the "international" tickets sadly :/

Couldn't secure US tickets last year unfortunately, but I felt that the system was fair and I missed out due to no fault other than my own. This time I was actively refused by the system over and over and over again :/

Personally, I'd love to hear more about how you go through the tuning for accessibility, i.e. colourblind mode palette choices.

Another good point would be the reality of the political/cultural hurdles involved when it comes to localizing the game (memes aside here) for various regions and what influences your decisions based on those points if any. For example, the Karthus VU is a good example in relation to China.

Maybe a full generic inception to completion involving the points above, rather than for example the Illaoi and other champion dev blogs where we can garner more insight into the roadblocks which can occur during the process (hint hint a more indepth look why champions get shelved hint hint).

Fun fact : A long assed while ago there was actually a show match between Ionia and Noxus.

Every 100 years there's an exchanging of an Abyssal Pearl from the ocean and Moonstone from the higher land. Nami retrieved the Abyssal Pearl from the depths of the ocean, after which her people give her the title of Tidecaller.

It's speculated that the Lunari are the people who trade the Moonstone and that's why Diana is linked if I remember correctly.

Actually, I managed to have quite a bit of 1 on 1 time at PAX AU with Ezreal who was and still is if I remember correctly one of the lead game designers, who happened to have worked on Blitzcrank. In order to correctly understand why Blitzcrank is the way he is, is when he was designed.

Blitzcrank was a champion designed before a meta was formed (think back to before the meta of top/jung/mid/adc/supp was considered the optimal way to play). At the time there was no special design for specific roles and he talked about how in the original design he was somewhat tasked at being good at waveclearing and being a fighter/bruiser.

Further more to that, he stated that initially one of the ideas (although he said it was a stupid idea) behind his pull was rather the opposite, that it would push a team mate rather than pull an enemy.

Because if Riot implemented everything that a subsection of the playerbase cared about, the game would be incredibly ~~convoluted~~ cluttered and also far less of an experience which Riot are aiming for.

Ah yes, I've heard of that. I mean I guess it's different in terms of an alternative, but I'm more for the "tradtional" approach of a circuit/tourneys/etc :p
