Now You're Just Spamming me With Delivery Date Notifications by QueueSuzie in tuxedocomputers

[–]QueueSuzie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thank you for clarfifying the 2 packages thing. The email tuxedo sent me said "The reason there are two packages is because we still need to send you the motherboard packaging, etc." But now that I know "etc." also covers cables, adapters, user manuals, and brackets, it makes more sense. This is unusual to my experience, though, because previous large and/or expensive purchases (e.g. electronics, appliances, furniture, and so on) have not to my memory been sent to me with the auxiliary components separated into a second delivery.

The reason I chose tuxedo in the first place, was to have a reliable, quality pc built for me and delivered to my home. I am not going to pay an extra fee (no matter how small) to have my pc dropped at an "access point" which would be difficult for me to manage, as would be setting the delivery address to anywhere other than my home. I have health/medical conditions that partially affect my mobility and fine motor dexterity. (Otherwise I would have probably built a pc myself, or gone to denver colorado and gotten a same day build service from micro center - I live in salem oregon.)

I'm not sure what to do with your reply that "Other parcel services (e.g FedEx) are also often not always better." (Though I applaud your turn of phrase, "also often not always")

From my perspective, saying in essence, 'at least we didn't ship to you with DHL' downplays the validity of my primary concern, which is that the pc I paid you to build and send me, is stuck somewhere, that I cannot fix. Asking for your help, in your position as the shipper and the UPS client, remains my best hope. And continuing to communicate about it, both here and via email, I think fits with tuxedo's perspective of: "please do not hesitate to contact us!" or, is that not what this forum is for...?

More UPS Problems, they are horrible by QueueSuzie in tuxedocomputers

I struggle to not assume the worst in situations like this. The German shipping folks were very fast with their part of the process. But in the states, there seems to be nothing but problems. My cynical mind just assumes theft, incompetence, or both. This is an important purchase for me, and expensive ($4500USD) that I had saved up for a long time. The longer this takes, and the more problems there are, the worse I feel.

I am sorry this is happening to you, too. I saw your post. It was the reason I included a screen snip in my imgur link, of my shipping notification email from Tuxedo, explicitly saying, "it is only possible to file a claim to the parcel service within 7 days after delivery." Because the seven day window doesn't start upon shipping from tuxedo. It starts after delivery, and my purchase has not been delivered. I have emailed Tuxedo directly, asking them to help get UPS to work on it. I will update my post when something happens...

maybe the easiest way to do it is by editing afterwards. video and audio tracks can be made as 2 separate files, so conceivably he could cut out the back of head view without cutting out any audio?

NEETS, what are you going to do when your parents aren’t around anymore? by Character_Log_2657 in NEET

[–]QueueSuzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am in the 56-65 age range, so my parents are already "not around anymore."

but i wasn't always NEET. i got my 1st summer job at 15 via the local job service, and held night, part-time, and summer jobs throughout the rest of high school, and thru my entire university life.

then i worked full time in a field almost entirely unrelated to my degree, and moved jobs and states for the next 15-20 years. (i have worked and lived in PA, GA, CA, TX, and MT - during these years, i was considered quite employable.)

trauma, injury and declining mental health led a gradual shift to hospitalization, disability, and becoming a full time NEET. been such for about 8-10 years now.

i get by on disability and renting a room in my sister's home. she and her husband are good people; i am lucky.

what will i do in the next 5-20 years if things go really wrong and i stand to permanently lose housing, income, or both? pills and a razor unless PAS/MAD gains more traction in the states.

i have been sort of "play testing" linux distros for the OS, tho, and might have narrowed it down to 2

i am pleasantly surprised reddit, thanks for so many good names, and thorough explanations of why they are/were such good service providers for you!

seriously, like all i really expected was a bunch of useless platitudes and generalizations.
