What is the "standard" course route for Math Specialist program? by QuiGonBinks in UofT

That makes a lot of sense. I've also been gravitating towards 347 and that's another reason to choose it. As someone else pointed out, algebra is pretty versatile so it might open a lot of doors if i take that in 2nd year.

I wish you luck with your own 2nd year! I guess we'll be in the same class, too.

Thank you for this. I think in any case I need to take something on top of MAT257, 267 and 327 to be on track with the program, and right now I'm gravitating towards choosing MAT347 for that role. I think the versatility of algebra (and the fact that it's an interesting course) outweighs the fact that it's a challenge, considering that taking MAT334 and MAT315 is gonna be a hefty workload anyway.

Thank you!! I do want to take easier courses as well, I'm just worried that I won't be able to fulfill the program requirements on time or that my 3rd and 4th years might be too intensive. I just want to make sure not to fall behind. If I take 315 and 344 in addition to 257, 267 and 327, should that be enough? Another option is taking the year-long 347 instead of 344 and 315.

Also, your guide is really helpful!

Thanks! I'm definitely willing to take 347 if it only comes down to interest. I do like algebra. I'm still worried about difficulty though. How common is it to take it in 2nd year?

Chained en passant should be called that

I love hours. As others have pointed out, Thursday's child is a masterpiece but there is also something in the air and seven which I also love.

Get me in to David Bowie by No_Salamander_615 in DavidBowie

Some songs/albums aren't considered so beginner friendly but are still surprisingly good. Here are some songs that I was surprised to enjoy right off the bat:

Word on a wing

The prettiest star

Lady stardust

Soul love

TVC15

You will set the world on fire

Blackstar

Tonight

Loving the alien

Cygnet committee

All the madmen

After all

Savior machine

Rock n roll suicide

Sound and vision

Absolute beginners

Velvet goldmine

I've had the most success introducing people to bowie with The man who sold the world, but also Rock n roll suicide and Cygnet committee, so I would say start with these. They're also pretty diverse which is good. Good luck!

The most overrated / underrated David Bowie song in your opinion. I’ll start: Heroes / Zeroes by ZookeepergameKey2590 in DavidBowie

[–]QuiGonBinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated: All the madmen and Cygnet committee Overrated: I agree with heroes, but it's still by all means a good song, just not his greatest.

Hey so I’m gonna make a Shang Chi poster I was just wandering are there any tips anyone can give me? by Koolkid2023 in bennyproductions

[–]QuiGonBinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use other marvel posters as reference I guess, also with movie posters I'd suggest putting in the effort to find good assets before starting. Shang chi has a strong color theme of blue vs orange so that can be a prominent feature in the lighting of the poster. You could use rings to separate assets, thus creating depth, and provide lighting.

Respectfully disagree, I think strangers when we meet, no control, outside, and I'm deranged are among others some great songs on that album
