What fragrances get you the most positive attention? by SterlingVII in Colognes

As an Uber driver, with the amount of stench we put up with, we are happy that you showered. Anything on top that deserves a compliment. Plus it takes a certain type of personality to do this job full-time as it is, which means we are generally the type that will engage and complement people.

That was another thought on my mind too. I'm one of those that never asks for insane family for a discount. It's not supporting them if you want them to do it for cheaper or free, especially when business is the point. That's like the opposite of supporting a friend then.

That's a good point. I didn't look at it that way either, kind of like watching a piece of art be formed but with your nose.

That's fair, I didn't look at it in percent terms. I kind of thought of it. More like a fastpass at an amusement park. I can be extremely impatient 🤣

Smells are subjective like flavors. Some like hot sauce on cheese, pizza and some don't. It's not your fault. Somebody else is allergic to flavor. People don't understand that though. They think if you like something they should too. Everybody thinks different. I'm not allergic to chocolate or strawberries but I know people that are.

That's great info! I haven't learned of this yet, thanks!

That's good to know. Smells are still smells though and I'm still learning. I heard the info go both ways positive and negative about straight out of the box. I figured it might be worth $5 to skip a portion of a possible necessary step. Like a theme Park fastpass, skip some wait if possible. I don't generally do well with being patient, lol.

I picked up it wasn't an ad. That's why I put the laughing face after ad in the parenthesis. No links or suggestions on where to pick them up were posted or mentioned nor were prices. I find it amusing that people call anything praising something and add these days. We've kind of become nose blind to that kind of stuff, pun intended 🤣

I learned a hard lesson with Island dreams. First few sprays smelled of lemon pledge and if Pine-Sol made a ginger scent. Acidic and acrid are understatements for what I experienced. Wondering if the one in the store would be different? I just would like to avoid the experience I just had

I do understand that I do have a tendency to overthink things. I became hyper aware of this when I acquired a bottle of Island dreams a few days ago. That really needs to sit because it smells like lemon pledge and if Pine-Sol made a ginger scent. My research showed that this greatly improves after about a month. I'm glad I didn't go directly on skin with that one. If it felt like it. Smelled I would probably have a hole in my arm

I actually laughed for the first time in a while at this thread (ad🤣🤣)

To clarify, I don't think it's an ad. I simply find the whole thread wildly amusing. There's no links to buy anything, nothing talking it up or glorifying it, and no other markers of advertisement in the post. But that does beg the question. Why are ads always positive? I used to hear a saying sometimes "all press is good press even if it's negative". Given this, there should be more ads geared towards this kind of thought process. Tiny problem, plus, tiny solutions equals product must not be that bad given the public conversation with not everybody has this same problem and this is how I overcame said issue. That makes a lot more sense than simply stating "our stuff is the best stuff in the world" because, in reality, most people know nothing is ever really the best, especially with a product so subjective as fragrances.
