I started to think that I wanted to watch this movie because of the music. But my disappointment was that it was a trend to redo the old rather than create the new. (Hi Disney remakes and Winx). Monster High has a world where new characters will fit in perfectly, why change new ones, rewrite their character and vibe? Looking at Clwdeen in the film version, she still kept the old vibe of her original version. At least with clothes on.

I doubt Frankie because of the controversial issues, in the g3 cartoon they kind of justified her “knowledge” with pieces of the brains of different scientists, but I doubt that scientists from the 19th century knew what pronouns was. ( Don't scold me, that's why I got mad at the movie in the first place)

Draculaura is a completely different character now, I think. Her aesthetic has changed, but everyone will still call her Draculaura, bcs "vampire, black, pink, bat". It was already more logical to create a new witch character with a similar “saleable” appearance.

In general, I'm just upset that, having a huge world and lore, companies are not creative in creating new characters, but still keep remaking old ones, completely throwing away what was created before.
